    Abstract: Embodiments provide a computer-executed method, a computer system and non-transitory computer-readable media for facilitating consumer interaction with a promotion. The method includes transmitting computer-executable instructions to cause an impression of a promotion to be displayed on a consumer interface rendered on a visual display of a computing device. The method also includes receiving, from the computing device, an indication of a compound consumer input associated with a consumer and performed using the consumer interface. The method also includes determining that the compound consumer input corresponds to a command for performing an action associated with the promotion. The method further includes, based on a determination that the compound consumer input corresponds to the command, transmitting computer-executable instructions to initiate execution of the command associated with the promotion.

    Abstract: Software applications are tested in different contexts, such as on different devices and under different conditions. During initial testing of an application, conditions of contexts are selected randomly, and the application is tested in each resulting context. After obtaining results from a sufficient number of contexts, the results are analyzed to create a predictive model indicating, for any postulated context, whether testing of the application is most likely to fail or to otherwise produce negative test results. The model is then analyzed to identify contexts that are most likely to produce negative results or failures, and those contexts are emphasized in subsequent application testing.

    Abstract: An ion-trap system having a trapping location that is controllable with nanometer-scale precision in three dimensions is disclosed. The ion-trap system includes an ion trap that includes a pair of RF driver electrodes, a pair of tuning electrodes operably coupled with the RF driver electrodes to collectively generate an RF field having an RF null that defines the trapping location, as well as a plurality of DC electrodes that are operably coupled with the RF driver electrodes and the tuning electrodes. Each tuning electrode is driven with an RF signal whose amplitude and phase is independently controllable. By controlling the amplitudes of the RF signals applied to the tuning electrodes, the height of the trapping location above the mirror is controlled. The position of the tuning location along two orthogonal lateral directions is controlled by controlling a plurality of DC voltages applied to the plurality of DC electrode pads.

    Abstract: A steerable illumination fixtures include an emitting source and a refractive optical system that steers an emitted beam by relative translation of the emitting source against the optical system. The light emitting source may be placed along an optical axis of one or more lenses to produce an output beam along that axis, or translated in-plane (orthogonal to the optical axis) relative to the lenses to produce a steered beam. The optical system may include refractive lenses and in some embodiments mixing channels and/or one or more baffles with apertures. The design is typically optimized to produce a round, uniform beam that retains approximately the same power level and beam width as it is steered. It is beneficial, but not required, that a second lens have a diameter equal to or larger than a first lens. The lenses may be configured so that the effective focal plane of the two lenses together is located approximately at the plane of the light emitting source.

The LEDs are positioned generally in the focal plane of an array of concave mirrors that collimate the light. The LEDs and array of mirrors are translatable with respect to one another to steer the aggregate light beam to customize the emission.     Abstract: Monitoring devices, which in some cases may comprise smartphones, are placed at base stations of a cellular communications network to report base station information. Each monitoring device is configured to periodically determine whether its associated base station is operating correctly, or whether there is some type of anomaly at the base station. As long as there is no anomaly, the monitoring device repeatedly sends status messages to a support service of the cellular communications network. Each such status message indicates that the monitoring device has performed an analysis and has determined there is no serious anomaly at the base station. The support service monitors status messages from multiple monitoring devices. If the support service does not receive a status message within a given period of time, the support service may alert service personnel and/or automatically dispatch support resources to the base station or trigger diagnostics and/or corrective measures.

    Abstract: An apparatus for a lead-free piezoelectric ink-jet printhead is disclosed. Piezoelectric printheads, while more expensive are favored because they use a wider variety of inks. The piezoelectric printhead includes a diaphragm, a plurality of piezoelectric actuators comprising a lead-free piezoelectric material, at least one nozzle, at least one ink chamber, a top electrode, and a drive circuit. The deflection of the diaphragm on the body chamber contributes to a pressure pulse that is used to eject a drop of liquid from the nozzle. According to an exemplary embodiment, a lead-free piezoelectric printhead operated at smaller thicknesses and significantly higher electric fields is disclosed, along with methods of making such printheads.
