  • Patent number: 6268851
Abstract: The present invention comprises a novel system for authoring and publishing hypermedia works. The present invention includes a scrollable contents map window in which a graphical representation of a hypermedia work is displayed. The contents map window contains graphical lexia symbols representing the lexia of the hypermedia work, empty space, and other graphical and text elements. Links between lexia are not ordinarily displayed. Selecting a lexia symbol causes the corresponding lexia to be displayed in a lexia display window. The lexia symbols representing lexia may be arranged in the window in any configuration. Freely movable text labels and other graphical elements may be placed anywhere in the contents map window. Additional special purpose graphical elements may be placed in the contents map window to create relationships among lexia. In one embodiment, a number of different modes of the contents map window can be displayed. One mode is a caricature mode.

  • Patent number: 6190836
Abstract: A method of repairing defects on masks includes the step of providing a coating on the mask to prevent damage to clear regions of the mask from laser ablation splatter, laser ablation caused quartz pitting, laser deposition staining, and FIB caused gallium staining. The coating is a metal, a polymer, or a carbon material. The coating is formed on clear regions of the mask as well as either over or under the light absorbing material of the mask. A coating comprising a thin copper layer significantly improves imaging with the ion beam while protecting clear regions of the mask from FIB stain. A coating formed of a photosensitive polymer is used to etch opaque defects. While wanted opaque regions adjacent an opaque defect are also etched in this etch step, these created clear defects are then repaired in a subsequent FIB deposition step while a copper coating protects adjacent clear regions from FIB stain.

  • Patent number: 5869793
Abstract: An engine muffler and spark arrester includes an oval shaped outer tube extending along an axis and having an inlet end and an outlet end. A plurality of substantially identical nested oval shaped disks are disposed coaxially adjacent the outlet end. Each of the disks has an oval shaped centrally located aperture. An inner tube is disposed coaxially within the outer tube. The inner tube has a circular inlet end and an oval-shaped outlet end. An oval end cap is disposed adjacent the disks. A sound absorbent material can be disposed in a cavity defined between the inner tube and the outer tube. An oval-shaped inlet cap is secured to the inlet end of the outer tube with the inlet cap having a circular centrally located aperture extending therethrough. An oval-shaped outlet cap is secured to the outlet end of the outer tube. The outlet cap has an oval-shaped centrally located aperture extending therethrough.
