  • Publication number: 20070181559
Abstract: A cooking pot includes a cooking container, an electric heat generator, and a control sensor. The cooking container has a cooking cavity and defines a bottom wall thereof. The electric heat generator includes a heat generating module, which is adapted for electrically connecting with a power source, supported within the cooking cavity of the cooking container at the bottom wall thereof, wherein the heat generating module has an upper heating surface for transmitting heat within the cooking cavity. The control sensor is mounted within the cooking cavity of the cooking container to operatively control the heat generating module in an on-and-off manner, wherein the control sensor has a sensor point positioned above the heating surface of the heat generating module such that a distance between the bottom wall and the sensor point is larger than a distance between the bottom wall and the heating surface of the heat generating module.

  • Publication number: 20060292388
Abstract: Metallic stents which have a randomly oriented microstructure, and possess quasi-isotropic mechanical and physical properties are disclosed. The novel stents can be “tailor-made” to mimic the geometry of the blood vessel(s) at the deployment site and can be designed to treat coronary artery disease at the point where blood vessels branch. The metallic materials of choice are ductile, corrosion resistant and exhibit little crystallographic texture. The novel stents can be produced from a metallic precursor which is quasi-isotropic and exhibits little texture by processing means, such as machining, which do not reintroduce texture. Alternatively, quasi-isotropic and low texture stents are achieved by suitable post-processing of conventionally fabricated stent materials.

  • Publication number: 20060262724
Abstract: An approach for providing flow control in a radio communication system is disclosed. A request from a non-satellite system specific side of a transport interface is made to a system specific side of the transport interface for a flow control allocation that specifies an amount of data to be stored in a queue of the system specific side of the transport interface. The system specific side supports a signaling function that is based on a transmission characteristic of the radio communication system. The flow control allocation is generated based upon availability of the queue, wherein the destination address is a link layer address of the satellite communication system. This arrangement has particular applicability to a satellite network (e.g., Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) network) that provides data communication services.

  • Publication number: 20060129673
Abstract: A presence agent (101) receives a message with a request for a status of one or more entities. The presence agent (101) determines the status of the entities, and transmits a message with the status of the entities. Transmitting the message includes initiating a connection to a communication device (107). A watcher (103) monitors the status of the entities, and provides updated information regarding the status to the users. The watcher (103) receives a request for a status of entities, determines the status of the entities, and transmits, in response to receipt of the request, a response indicating the status. A communication device (107) transmits a message having a request for status of entities. The communication device receives, from a connection initiated by a communication network (105), a message with a status of the entities, and processes the status of the entities, in response thereto.

  • Patent number: 7053597
Abstract: A regulator and a related control method for providing a regulated voltage. The regulator includes a bipolar junction transistor (BJT), a capacitive module having capacitors, and an operational amplifier (OP-AMP) for feedback control. The OP-AMP has a amplifying circuit, a driving stage and a current mirror. The BJT charges the capacitive module to establish the regulated voltage, the OP-AMP controls a driving current of a base of the BJT according to the feedback of the regulated voltage. When the regulated voltage is in a predetermined range, the current mirror provides a secondary current through the driving stage such that the driving current is reduced, and the current of the BJT is thus limited to its rated current. When the regulated voltage is out of the predetermined range, the current mirror stops providing the secondary current, and the regulator will operate normally without current supplied by the current mirror.

  • Publication number: 20050246301
Abstract: Distributed pattern matching defines extensions and improvements to the RETE algorithm and to the forward chaining method of inference in rule systems. The same approach is envisaged for a goal-driven, backward chaining inference method where data is used to satisfy new goals in an interactive session between different engines, different systems, or between a system and a user interface. Utilizing techniques from Remote Procedure Calling (RPC), distributed processing, parallel processing and grid computing, the invention defines a novel algorithm to implement a system capable of distributed pattern matching. Reasoning over large data sets exceeding millions of rows in a reactive mode with a single engine is difficult due to hardware limitations. Using a cluster of inexpensive systems, reasoning over large datasets is more efficient and provides better scalability and response time. Distributed pattern matching is a significant innovation and enables rule engines to reason over large sets of data.

  • Patent number: 6867572
Abstract: A regulator and related method for providing a regulated voltage. The regulator includes a bipolar junction transistor (BJT) as a charging circuit, a capacitive circuit formed for regulating the regulated voltage by bypass and regulation capacitors, an operational amplifier (OP-AMP), a bandgap circuit, and a pre-charging circuit. The capacitive circuit receives current to establish the regulated voltage. According to the regulated voltage, the OP-AMP biases the base of the BJT to obtain the accurate regulated voltage to control a current conducted to the capacitive circuit by the BJT. When the regulator starts to work, the OP-AMP is disabled to prevent the BJT from providing current. Instead the pre-charging circuit first provides a pre-charging current to charge the capacitive circuit, then the OP-AMP is enabled to turn on the BJT to charge the capacitive circuit and establish the steady-state regulated voltage.
