  • Patent number: 4494283
Abstract: A device for filling spacing mounting frames of insulating glass with hygroscopic material. Spacing mounting frames have corners that are formed integrally by bending from a single hollow profiled bar. A mounting support (8,18) is provided for the spacing mounting frame (1) to be filled and at least one multi-purpose tool (10) which preferably rotates like a turret head, is provided with three sequentially usable tools, namely: a drill (12) for forming an opening in the outer wall of the spacing mounting frame, a nozzle (13) for feeding the hygroscopic material into the spacing mounting frame (1) and a nozzle (14) for sealing the inlet opening.

  • Patent number: 4471895
Abstract: In a process for cutting laminated glass, the laminated glass is scored on both sides, and bent first to one and then to the other side, the two parts of the laminated glass being pulled apart while performing the second bending step. The thus-tensioned plastic sheeting is melted off simultaneously over the entire length of the parting line by a jet of heated air directed into the gap formed by the bending operation. The apparatus for conducting the process comprises two plate-like supports for the laminated glass to be cut, at least one of these supports being pivotable to and fro about an axis extending in the junction zone between the two supports. The supports (1, 2) are provided at their lower edges with conveying elements (5, 6) for the laminated glass (10) and with clamping devices (13, 14) for fixing the laminated glass (10) in place. Furthermore, a hot-air duct (15) is provided, having a slotted nozzle (30) oriented toward the junction zone (3) between the supports (1, 2).

  • Patent number: 4434024
Abstract: A device for the assembly of insulating glass panes comprises an upright wall equipped with supporting rollers, the lower edge of this wall being provided with driven conveying rollers for glass panes, and a carrier with guide rollers for glass panes movable into or out of the upper zone of the glass panes. The wall can be shifted forward and backward at right angles to its plane by at least the thickness of one glass pane with its spacer frame attached thereto, transversely to the conveying direction of the glass panes. A beam liftable and lowerable underneath the wall carries lifting lugs and guide rollers engaging between the conveying rollers. Furthermore, a measuring device at least partially fixedly mounted on the framework is provided, for example a photoelectric cell, to detect the thickness of a glass pane with its spacer frame attached thereto and to shift the wall backward by this amount.

  • Patent number: 4422541
Abstract: The invention relates to apparatus for conveying insulating glass panes which are slightly inclined from the vertical and have edge grooves filled with a sealing compound. Pairs of mutually opposite supports are provided, which are moved in the direction of conveyance and have substantially horizontal supporting surfaces and engage the lower edge face of each of the individual glass panes of each insulating glass pane only in an outer portion of the lower edge face. Backing rollers are provided, which are freely rotatably mounted on substantially vertical axes and adapted to engage the insulating glass pane only close to its upper edge.

  • Patent number: 4406726
Abstract: The apparatus for producing compacted insulating glass comprises two substantially vertical press platens, one of which is adapted to be moved relative to the stationary press platen in a frame in order to perform the compacting operation. Racks extending at right angles to the movable press platen are rigidly connected to the latter and in mesh with pinions rotatably mounted on fixed axes in the frame. A common drive is provided to rotate the pinions in synchronism. The stationary press platen may carry backing rollers, which can be retracted into the stationary press platen.

  • Patent number: 4369084
Abstract: Apparatus for producing insulating glass filled with a gas other than air, such as sulfur hexafluoride, comprising two substantially vertical plates disposed on opposite sides of the insulating glass to be filled. At least one of said plates is displaceable transversely to said plate. Sealing elements are associated with the top horizontal edges and the vertical side edges of said plates. A tublike container is provided below the plates and has a liftable bottom and an opening that is connected and sealed to the plates.
