  • Patent number: 9289174
Abstract: A feedback device for measuring balance related information, and for producing a stimulation of the skin that encodes that information in a way that is useful to the wearer of the device. At least one sensor detects balance information and transmits at least one balance information signal to a signal processing subsystem. The signal processing subsystem converts the received balance information signal into at least one stimulation control signal. The signal processing subsystem then transmits the stimulation control signal to at least one stimulator, which provides stimulation to a wearer of the device reflecting the stimulation control signal received from the signal processing subsystem.

  • Publication number: 20150307255
Abstract: An electrode pad packaging system including an electrode pouch, an electrode pad (e.g., a defibrillation electrode pad) and a sacrificial source of moisture (e.g., a gel or a solid hydrogel) is disclosed. The electrode pad and the sacrificial source of moisture are each disposed at least partially within the electrode pouch. A method of packaging an electrode pad is also disclosed. The method includes providing an electrode pouch, an electrode pad (e.g., a defibrillation electrode pad), and a sacrificial source of moisture configured to be placed at least partially within the electrode pouch. In an embodiment, the sacrificial source of moisture is configured to diffuse within the electrode pouch to help prevent conductive gel disposed on the electrode pad from becoming too dry.

  • Publication number: 20150285647
Abstract: A planning system for planning fieldwork for an agricultural working machine includes a display unit and a data processing unit for processing field-specific data. The data processing unit is programmed to derive at least one reference object from the field-specific data by use an algorithm stored in the data processing unit and to display the at least one reference object on the display unit. At least one reference object is selectable as input information for a working plan for a field by an operator of the planning system. On a basis of the selected at least one reference object, a working plan for the agricultural working machine is created.

  • Publication number: 20150231386
Abstract: An iontophoresis drug delivery system and method for denervation of the renal sympathetic nerve and iontophoresis drug delivery. The system includes an iontophoresis catheter fitted with a drug coated balloon. The iontophoresis catheter includes a balloon near its distal tip or end that contacts the vessel wall circumferentially when inflated. One or more electrodes are associated with a surface of the balloon, and may be disposed on an outer surface of the balloon. The electrodes are operably coupled to an energy source configured to produce a bipolar or monopolar electric field between two balloon electrodes and/or between one balloon electrode and another electrode placed in contact with a part of the patient's body. During use, the disclosed drug-delivery catheter produces an electric potential gradient within adjacent tissue, that, in turn, facilitates iontophoresis delivery of a drug. The disclosed catheter can also include a store of one or more drugs to be delivered to the targeted tissue.

  • Patent number: 9107594
Abstract: Shown is an ECG electrode lead wire connector which provides improved electrical and mechanical coupling of the ECG electrode press stud to the lead wire, provides enhanced ergonomics to the clinician, and may alleviate patient discomfort associated with the attachment and removal of ECG leads. The connector may be engaged and disengaged with little or no force imparted to the patient or the ECG pad, which significantly minimizes the risk of inadvertent dislodgement of the pad. In one embodiment the shown connector provides a thumb cam lever which affirmatively engages the press stud to the connector, and provides tactile feedback to the clinician that the connector is properly engaged. In other embodiments, the connector provides a pushbutton to enable the clinician to easily engage and disengage the connector from the ECG stud. The shown connectors may also decrease clinician fatigue, and may provide more reliable ECG results.

  • Publication number: 20150168204
Abstract: A method and a device determine a height of a fluid level in a fluid container by: emitting a sound signal by a transmitter and recording sound signals reflected at the fluid level and at the reference elements; determining, for the recorded sound signals, a first propagation time difference between a first propagation time of the sound signal emitted by the transmitter and reflected at the first reference element and a second propagation time of the sound signal emitted by the transmitter and reflected at the second reference element; determining a second propagation time difference or a third propagation time difference; and determining the height of the fluid level based upon the first propagation time difference, the second propagation time difference and the first distance or based upon the first propagation time difference, the third propagation time difference and the second distance.
