  • Publication number: 20240109147
Abstract: The invention features a replaceable cartridge for a plasma arc torch. The cartridge includes a cartridge body having a first section and a second section. The first and second sections are joined at an interface to form a substantially hollow chamber. The interface provides a coupling force that secures the first and second sections together. The cartridge also includes an arc constricting member located in the second section; an electrode included within the substantially hollow chamber; and a contact start spring element affixed to the electrode. The spring element imparts a separating force that biases the electrode toward at least one of the first section or the second section of the body. The separating force has a magnitude that is less than a magnitude of the coupling force.

  • Publication number: 20240111482
Abstract: The disclosed playback devices, media playback systems, and/or methods improve upon the media playback experience by selectively reducing audio quality under certain conditions. The reduction of audio quality may be based on one or more aspects of the acoustic environment, such as the number and locations of one or more users, noise levels, playback device locations relative to the acoustic environment, etc. The media playback system may monitor or periodically poll each of one or more playback devices and other devices or sensors in and around an acoustic environment to determine whether there are opportunities to reduce audio quality for one or more playback devices. This reduction in quality allows the media playback system to conserve resources in one or more aspects and, potentially, divert those resources to other aspects for purposes.

  • Patent number: 11947996
Abstract: Methods to execute an orchestration of computing services concurrently, the method including developing a representation of a set of services where each service relates to other services via different types of relationships. Also, applying a set of dependency rules for each type of relationship within the set of services such that the application of the dependency rules creates inter-step dependencies between steps representing state transitions of the set of services and developing the orchestration plan based on the inter-step dependencies that allows for concurrent execution of nondependent steps.

  • Patent number: 11944440
Abstract: An implantable device for estimating neural recruitment arising from a stimulus, has a plurality of electrodes. A stimulus source provides stimuli to be delivered from the electrodes to neural tissue. Measurement circuitry obtains a measurement of a neural signal sensed at the electrodes. A control unit is configured to control application of a selected stimulus to neural tissue using the stimulus electrodes; and after the selected neural stimulus, apply a probe stimulus having a short pulse width. A remnant neural response evoked by the probe stimulus is measured; and the control unit estimates from the remnant neural response a neural recruitment caused by the selected neural stimulus.

  • Publication number: 20240103118
Abstract: A method for mapping a surface using signals transmitted from a single transmitter comprises: receiving signals transmitted from the single transmitter, where each signal has a different propagation path; determining a motion of an antenna of the receiver; generating phasor sequences, where each phasor sequence represents a hypothesis based on antenna motion and a direction of arrival estimate for each received signal; compensating the received signals, local signals, or correlation results from correlating the received signals with the local signals using the phasor sequences based on the hypotheses to generate compensated correlation results; determining a preferred hypothesis in the hypotheses for each received signal that optimizes each correlation result; identifying a direction of arrival for each received signal using the determined hypothesis; determining a point of reflection from the direction of arrival of each received signal; and combining the points of reflection into one or more reflective surf
