  • Patent number: 7036638
Abstract: A safety brake device has a setting device moving an abutment or a housing to limit movement of brake wedges engaging a guide rail which limits a braking force applied by the brake wedges. The setting device can continuously adjust the braking force limit in dependence on a magnitude of a mass to be braked.

  • Publication number: 20050261805
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for programming a pump used to inject medicaments. Said pump comprises two connectable units, namely: (i) a cartridge unit (12) which contains the liquid to be injected and which comprises an electronic memory unit (36) that is intended to contain data relating to the treatment that the patient is to receive and (ii) a pump unit (10) comprising actuation means (18) which act on the aforementioned cartridge unit (12) in order to convey the liquid outwards and a microprocessor which is used to control said actuation means using the data contained in the memory unit (36). The inventive device comprises (a) a computer (46) which is used to produce the above-mentioned data and (b) a first interface (50) which can be connected to the computer in order to receive said data and designed to be connected to the cartridge unit (12) in place of the pump unit (10) in order to introduce the data into the memory unit (36).

  • Publication number: 20050217940
Abstract: An elevator installation with an elevator car and a counterweight, a suspension cable suspending the elevator car and the counterweight, and a compensating cable compensating the effect of the weight of the suspension cable, is equipped with a compensating cable guide which for the purpose of guiding the compensating cable has at least one brush.

  • Patent number: 6823969
Abstract: A braking device acts on a guide rail and consists of a housing that is arranged at an elevator car yoke and serves as a support for spring packets and/or for adjusting packets. The housing also serves as a support and guide for chock guide elements that in turn retain and guide brake chocks with brake linings. Pushrods engage at one end at the brake chocks, and at the other end are pivotably connected to an actuating fork. Upon braking of the elevator car, the actuating fork is moved at the pushrod end in the direction of the braking device. The guided brake chocks with the brake linings slide in the braking device. At the same time the brake linings are moved at the guide leg of the guide rail. The brake chocks are moved in the braking device and the spring and adjusting packets are stressed, whereby a braking force for stopping an elevator car or a counterweight is generated.

  • Publication number: 20040149524
Abstract: A lower rate of wear of brake blocks and a speed limiter cable for a lift speed limiter brake apparatus and thus a longer service life can be achieved with a cable brake having brake blocks of different materials. In a preferred embodiment, one of the brake blocks is of aluminium-bronze and the other brake block is of nodular cast iron or soft cast iron. In further embodiments, one or both of the brake blocks may be formed of a ceramic-containing material.

  • Patent number: 5950768
Abstract: Safety equipment, in the form of an arresting device with triggering equipment for an elevator cage, which runs in rail guides and is for the conveying of persons and/or goods, which safety equipment stops the elevator cage when the permissible speed of travel in upward direction and in downward direction is exceeded, wherein a trigger lever connected the limiter cable is effective in both directions of travel. Known arresting devices are arranged functionally mutually opposite on support brackets and a double arresting device for both directions of travel is formed in this manner. The triggering of the corresponding arresting device separately in direction of travel takes place by way of some new parts which are incorporated between the arresting devices and the known triggering system consisting of speed limiter, limiter cable with tensioning weight and trigger lever.

  • Patent number: 5323877
Abstract: An apparatus is mounted on an elevator car for actuating a safety catch or a car brake when an excess car speed is detected in either a downward or an upward direction of travel, or when an unchecked movement of the elevator car takes place. The actuation takes place by movement of a pull rod cage connected to upper or lower pull rods, wherein the pull rod cage transmits a mechanical relative movement which is performed by a mechanical or an electromagnetic car speed monitoring device. Upper and lower sliding connections, which transmit tension forces and actuate the safety catch and the car brake respectively according to whether the car is moving downward or upwardly respectively, serve as connections between the pull rod cage and the upper and lower pull rods respectively.
