  • Publication number: 20090118037
Abstract: A golf club head formed of multiple materials is disclosed. Those portions of the club head that are subject to high stresses during normal use of the golf club head are formed of a metallic material. Most of the material beyond what is required to maintain structural integrity, however, is removed and replaced with a lightweight material. This freed-up mass that can be redistributed to other, more beneficial locations of the club head. The lightweight material also damps vibrations generated during use of the golf club. This vibration damper may be retained in a state of compression to enhance the vibration damping. One or more weight members may be included to obtain desired center of gravity position, moments of inertia, and other club head attributes.

  • Publication number: 20090115589
Abstract: A method and a computer program for identifying when the driver of a vehicle, in particular a motor vehicle, is not paying attention. In order to make it possible to make a more reliable statement on the presence of any inattentiveness by the driver, the method observes a steering action following a steering quiescent phase, in addition to detecting the steering quiescent phase. The extent of the steering quiescent phase and of the steering action found are logically linked to one another, and the result of this logical operation is then used as a measure for the severity of the inattentiveness of the driver.

  • Publication number: 20090113984
Abstract: A sensing system having a zeroing mechanism incorporating a micropump. The micropump may be connected to a gas conditioner for providing zeroing gas to a sensor downstream. The micropump and sensor may be connected to a processor or computer for pump control and receipt of information from the sensor. Upon zeroing and/or baseline correction of the sensor, the pump may be stopped and a sample gas may be fed into the sensor for detection and analysis. Alternatively, the pump may situated downstream of the sensor to draw conditioned gas through the sensor. A valve may be added having a conditioned gas input connected to the conditioner and having a sample input. The valve may have an output connected to the sensor. When the valve is open to the conditioned gas input, it will be closed to the sample input, and vice versa. The system may be for zeroing and/or calibration.

  • Publication number: 20090114120
Abstract: A process for manufacturing an ink, or pigment formulation (e.g. a concentrate) for use in inks, comprising filtration of a composition comprising a particulate pigment and a liquid medium through an inorganic filter having pores of a uniform size below 10 microns. The process accurately removes oversized particles that could cause problems in inkjet printers without wasting non-problematic under-sized pigment. High flow rates are achieved even with low trans-filter pressure differences. In one embodiment, high flow rates are maintained by selection of pH and/or ionic strength. The filters are more robust than conventional polymeric filters and withstand cleaning with aggressive cleaning agents.
