  • Patent number: 7527232
Abstract: An assembly for suspending an object from a surface includes a down rod having a width, an upper end, and a lower end for engaging the object. A ball member is also provided. The ball member has a generally hemispherical body with a longitudinal axis and a bore extending through the body obliquely relative to the longitudinal axis. The ball member also has a diameter wherein the ball member is connected to the upper end of the down rod. A hanger bracket is also provided. The hanger bracket has an upper end for being mounted to the surface and a bottom end that defines a socket. The socket includes an opening through it that is smaller than the diameter of the ball member. • Patent number: 7528559
Abstract: A synchronous motor system in which recovery due to a failed field excitation supply is achieved automatically without resort to, or by minimizing the length of time in asynchronous operation of the motor. A sensing system is deployed to provide a sensed signal that is caused by a failed field excitation supply to vary from a reference value by a predetermined amount. A control unit responds to detected failure by automatically changing a field winding system of the motor over from the failed field excitation supply to a standby field excitation supply. The standby supply can be shared by several synchronous motors.

  • Patent number: 7527078
Abstract: An improved dispensing system and dispensing routine for multiple ingredient formulas is disclosed. The system includes a controller linked to an actuator, a scale and, a means for imparting movement to a plurality of pumps or conveyors and containers for dispensing the plurality of ingredients. After a formula is selected, the controller acts to at least partially load the pump with the first of said ingredients, reads the scale to account for the weight of the receptacle, calculates the motion of the pump required to dispense the target amount of said first ingredient, and either executes a percentage or portion of the motion of the pump required to dispense the target amount of said first ingredient, leaving a remaining amount or a safety factor in the form of a previously determined <maximum overshoot> value.

  • Patent number: 7527815
Abstract: A method for the reduction of acrylamide in corn-based food products, corn-based food products having reduced levels of acrylamide, and an article of commerce. In one aspect, the method comprises reducing the level of asparagine in a corn-based food material before final heating (e.g., cooking). In another aspect, the method comprises adding to a corn-based food material an enzyme capable of hydrolyzing the amide group of free asparagine. In yet another aspect, an article of commerce communicates to the consumer that a corn-based food product has reduced or low levels of acrylamide or asparagine.

  • Patent number: 7527530
Abstract: An electric terminal connector block is provided with oblong tool openings that communicate with interior channels of the connector block and with openings in the motor wiring electric terminals positioned in each channel of the connector block. The oblong shapes of the tool openings enable insertion of tool pins through the tool openings and openings of the electric terminals and movement of the tool pins along the lengths of the oblong tool openings whereby the tool pins engage with the electric terminals and move the terminals relative to the connector block to insure that the terminals are locked in place in the connector block. In addition, the tooling used with the connector block is operated according to a method that insures that the terminals of the motor winding are moved to a position relative to the connector block where the terminals are locked in place.

  • Patent number: 7528705
Abstract: Methods of monitoring tire pressure and responding to a tire pressure error. A tire pressure monitoring apparatus provides signals to a vehicle control representing pressures in respective ones of the tires. The vehicle control first detects a tire pressure error in one of the tires, and then presents to a user a first signal representing the tire pressure error in the one of the tires. Then, a user input representing a prospective tire filling activity is detected. Thereafter, a second signal is presented to the user in response to a pressure in the one of the tires being substantially equal to a desired tire pressure.

  • Patent number: 7527951
Abstract: A fungal microorganism can be engineered by means of genetic engineering to utilise L-arabinose. The genes of the L-arabinose pathway, which were unknown, i.e. L-arabinitol 4-dehydrogenase and L-xylulose reductase, were identified. These genes, together with the known genes of the L-arabinose pathway, form a functional pathway. This pathway can be introduced to a fungus, which is completely or partially lacking this pathway.
