Each longitudinal wall of the housing comprises a cross-shaped groove including a cross-shaped guiding track. The cross shaped groove receives a projecting member of the actuating element. The guiding track receives a pressure piece carried by the actuating element. The cross shaped groove has end surfaces which form abutment surfaces for the corresponding surfaces of the projecting member.

Abstract: A method for determining when a laser tracker is stable includes performing a plurality of first frontsight measurements and a plurality of first backsight measurements on a first target with the laser tracker, wherein the plurality of first frontsight measurements and the plurality of first backsight measurements are alternated in time, calculating a plurality of first two-face errors based on the plurality of first frontsight measurements and the plurality of first backsight measurements, determining at least one first stability metric based at least in part on the plurality of first two-face errors, the at least one first stability metric being a value defined by a rule, determining whether the laser tracker is stable based at least in part on the at least one first stability metric and a first termination criterion and generating an indication whether the laser tracker is stable or not stable.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for the real-time identification of seizures in an Electroencephalogram (EEG) signal. The method provides for patient-independent seizure identification by use of a multi-patient trained generic Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier. The SVM classifier is operates on a large feature vector combining features from a wide variety of signal processing and analysis techniques. The method operates sufficiently accurately to be suitable for use in a clinical environment. The method may also be combined with additional classifiers, such a Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) classifier, for improved robustness, and one or more dynamic classifiers such as an SVM using sequential kernels for improved temporal analysis of the EEG signal.

Abstract: One conferencing system allows conference participants to share all or a portion of the display seen on their computer screens. The conferees may be at sites removed from each other, or may view a recorded presentation or archived conference at different times. Conference participants are either “presenters” who can modify the display or “attendees” who cannot modify the display. A pointer icon, which can be labeled to identify the conferee, is displayed on the shared image area. Each conferee can modify the position of his or her own pointer, even when not presenting, so that every participant can see what each conferee is pointing to, should a conferee choose to point to an element of the display. These and other features apply to other data streams shared in the conference or in meetings where there is no shared-image data stream.

The layout represents a real-world area in which a person moves about. A grid is applied on the image. The grid may include tiles that fill in a ground area of the image. A routable map is generated as a function of the grid. The routable map is configured to provide point-to-point routing within the layout.

Abstract: A surgical tool having an elongate shaft, with a directional operative element at its distal end, is provided with a mechanism to rotate the shaft and the operative element about a longitudinal axis shaft. This allows the operative element to be aligned with an element of tissue without excessive hand movement by the user. Abstract: A linear switched reluctance motor comprises a movable coil bracket including first and second coil assemblies. Each of the first and second coil assemblies further comprises a plurality of coils separately wound around a plurality of motor coil cores, each of the coils being configured to receive a sinusoidal current at a different phase from other coils comprised in the same coil assembly. Tooth members of a stator track are located adjacent to the motor coil cores such that a magnetic flux path is created which passes through the motor coil core, the stator track and an air gap between the motor coil core and the stator track. A multiple-phase motor driver electrically connected to the first and second coil assemblies generates symmetric multiple-phase sinusoidal currents for driving the motor.

The first susceptibility to generate eddy currents is less than the second and third susceptibilities to generate eddy currents. The assembly includes a target within the target portion, and a cathode within the cathode portion.

Abstract: Compositions and methods of producing components of protein biosynthetic machinery that include orthogonal tRNAs, orthogonal aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases, and orthogonal pairs of tRNAs/synthetases, which incorporate redox active amino acids into proteins are provided.
