  • Patent number: 10507136
Abstract: An ophthalmic laser processing apparatus comprises: a laser device that outputs a pulsed laser beam towards an eye; an image capturing device that captures an image of the eye and provides image data; and a control device that detects eye movement based on the image data and controls the beam focus based on a predetermined eye processing pattern and the eye movement. The apparatus further comprises a visualization device controlled by the control device to output a visualization of a graphical illustration. The graphical illustration represents at least one of (a) a value of an eye parameter determined on the basis of the image data; (b) a frequency distribution of a value of an eye parameter determined on the basis of the image data; and (c) a range of values of a pupil diameter determined on the basis of the image data.

  • Publication number: 20190365568
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a refractive laser surgery system including a processor having access to memory media storing instructions or sets of instructions executable by the processor to identify a surgical parameter; correct the surgical parameter based on a nomogram specific for the refractive laser surgery system to provide a nomogram-based corrected surgical parameter; store the surgical parameter and the nomogram-based corrected surgical parameter in the memory media as data for a patient or for one or both eyes of the patient; and compare the surgical parameter and nomogram-based corrected surgical parameter to generate a graphical representation of the surgical parameter, a target outcome parameter associated with the surgical parameter, or both, and the nomogram-based corrected surgical parameter, to generate a warning based on a comparison of the nomogram-based corrected surgical parameter to the surgical parameter or an absolute value, or both. Methods of using the system are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20190175400
Abstract: In certain embodiments, a patient interface apparatus for ophthalmic surgery comprises an annular member and an evacuation conduit. The annular member has an outer side, an inner side, a distal side, and a proximal side. The inner side defines an opening that allows for a laser beam to reach a treatment region of an eye free from reflection or refraction. The proximal side has a contact surface shaped to affix to a surface of the eye, and a groove that defines a suction chamber with the surface of the eye. The evacuation conduit is capable of fluid communication with the suction chamber, and conducts fluid away from the suction chamber to affix the contact surface to the surface of the eye.

  • Patent number: 10238539
Abstract: A technique for controlling a corneal ablation laser is described. As to a device aspect of the technique, a device comprises a parameter interface, a first determination unit, a second determination unit, a computation unit, and a control unit. The parameter interface receives an adjustment parameter. The first determination unit determines a first point on a corneal surface. The second determination unit determines a second point on the corneal surface that is different from the first point. The computation unit determines a third point on a line between the first point and the second point according to the adjustment parameter. The computation unit further generates a control program that centers an ablation profile on the third point. The control unit controls the corneal ablation laser according to the control program.

  • Patent number: 10195084
Abstract: According to certain embodiments, a method for laser cutting treatment of a human eye comprises: determining position information of a pupil center of the eye in relation to a point of minimal corneal thickness in an undeformed state of the eye; locating the point of minimal corneal thickness in a flattened state of the eye, in which the eye is deformed by contact with a patient adapter of a laser device; and aligning a pulse firing pattern for laser radiation pulses of the laser device, based on a position of the located point of minimal corneal thickness and the determined position information. In embodiments, the pulse firing pattern represents, for example, a lenticular or doughnut-shaped intracorneal tissue volume which is to be removed from the cornea of the eye.
