Abstract: Provided herein are applicators and methods for dispensing adhesive tape. Such adhesive tape applicators include a housing adapted to contain a roll of adhesive tape; a compressible tape hub attached to an inner surface of the housing and adapted to rotatably support the roll of adhesive tape; and an adhesive roller apparatus for applying the adhesive tape to a substrate. The compressibility of the compressible tape hub provides a means of braking and tearing the adhesive tape roll.

Abstract: A dispenser housing for dispensing a multi-layer tape transfer tape used in a paper web turn-up operation, the transfer tape being the combination of a tape substrate coated on one side with a web grabbing adhesive and on the other side with a mounting adhesive, and a release liner having a release liner substrate fully coated on a first side with a release layer and zone-coated on a second side with a release layer, the transfer tape being wound onto a single spool with the release liner facing inward and the mounting side adhesive facing outward, such that buckling is precluded when the transfer tape is unwound from the spool.

Abstract: An improved tape delivery assembly for delivering a turn-up tape across a moving web of paper being wound onto a spool, the assembly being part of a paper web turn-up system, the tape being used to sever and transfer the leading edge of the cut paper web onto an empty spool. A secondary tape dispensing module may deliver a secondary turn-up tape while a primary tape delivery module is temporarily removed from the paper web turn-up system.

Abstract: A method to enable access to resources hosted in a compute cloud begins upon receiving a registration request to initiate a user's registration to use resources hosted in the compute cloud. During a registration process initiated by receipt of the registration request, a federated single sign-on (F-SSO) request is received. The F-SSO request includes an assertion (e.g., an HTTP-based SAML assertion) having authentication data (e.g., an SSH public key, a CIFS username, etc.) for use to enable direct user access to a resource hosted in the compute cloud. Upon validation of the assertion, the authentication data is deployed within the cloud to enable direct user access to the compute cloud resource using the authentication data. In this manner, the cloud provider provides authentication, single sign-on and lifecycle management for the user, despite the “air gap” between the HTTP protocol used for F-SSO and the non-HTTP protocol used for the user's direct access to the cloud resource.
