  • Publication number: 20150061671
Abstract: MR signals are acquired with a method for phase contrast magnetic resonance (MR) imaging with speed encoding, in order to acquire raw data for multiple MR images. The multiple MR images are reconstructed. For this purpose, matrix elements are determined for numerous matrices, wherein the sum of the numerous matrices results in a pixel matrix. The pixel matrix has matrix elements that represent the pixel values for a reference MR image with flow compensation. The pixel matrix has further matrix elements that represent the pixel values for the at least one MR image with speed encoding. The matrix elements of the numerous matrices are determined such that a first matrix of the numerous matrices fulfills a first condition.

  • Publication number: 20150009510
Abstract: A distance measure between a beginning and an end of a material strip wound onto a body in a tangential direction can be determined by creating a height profile of a surface of the material strip, which covers the beginning and the end of the wound material strip in the tangential direction. If a position value of the beginning of the material strip is determined in the created height profile, the distance measure can be determined using this position value and the height profile covering the end of the material strip.

  • Publication number: 20140364724
Abstract: In a method and magnetic resonance apparatus to acquire diagnostic image data of a contrast agent-filled target area of a patient, a peak time of the test bolus in the target area is automatically determined, from which a wait period is then determined for administering the main bolus. After the main bolus has been administered to the patient, magnetic resonance images of the target area are acquired, and each is analyzed immediately after acquisition thereof to determine whether that image shows arrival of the contrast agent. If and when one of these images shows such arrival, an acquisition protocol is immediately started in order to acquire the diagnostic image data set. If none of these images shows arrival of the contrast agent, the protocol to acquire diagnostic image data is started after the wait period.

  • Patent number: 8879852
Abstract: A reconstructed image is rendered of a patient by a processor from a set of undersampled MRI data by first subtracting two repetitions of the acquired data in k-space to create a third dataset. The processor reconstructs the image by minimizing an objective function under a constraint related to the third dataset, wherein the objective function includes applying a Karhunen-Loeve Transform (KLT) to a temporal dimension of data. The objective function under the constraint is expressed as arg minf{??(f)?1 subject to ?Af?y?2??}. The reconstructed image is an angiogram which may be a 4D angiogram. The angiogram is used to diagnose a vascular disease.

  • Publication number: 20140285194
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for time-resolved phase-contrast magnetic resonance (MR) imaging with speed encoding, MR signals are detected with multiple receivers in each of numerous time segments in order to acquire raw data in each of the time segments, in each case for numerous MR images with different speed encodings. Stationary image points and/or non-stationary image points are identified, dependent on the detected MR signals. A mask is defined, dependent on the identified stationary image points and/or the non-stationary image points, wherein the mask is locally variable. The numerous MR images for the numerous time segments are reconstructed from the acquired raw data, wherein the reconstruction occurs in an iterative process and with a temporal regularization, which is dependent on the mask.

  • Patent number: 8824896
Abstract: A system for open space data communication comprising a transmitting device and an optical receiver using multiple varying levels of emitted radiation output. The transmitting device includes multiple emitter groups that are capable of being switched on and off and each of which can be activated in parallel to emit fixed, varying radiation outputs. A total radiation output emitted by the transmitting device is defined by a sum of the emitted radiation outputs of the emitter groups, wherein to transmit a bit vector (b0 . . . bn) an emitter group assigned to a most significant bit (b0) emits a maximum radiation output Pmax and emitter groups assigned to the less significant bits (b1 . . . bn) of the bit vector emit radiation outputs: Px=Pmax/2x where x=1 . . . n.

  • Publication number: 20140219414
Abstract: A camera arrangement for image detection includes radiation-sensitive sensor elements arranged to record a common object plane in offset fields of view, a balancer and a shading corrector. The balancer is implemented, for balancing the sensor elements, to post-process for each sensor element a sensor signal of the respective sensor signal n by means of balancing information determined in balancing and stored, so that a variation of the intensity I of incoming radiation in the respective field of view leads to a change of the respective post-processed sensor signal according to a desired mapping function Fn(anI), the mapping functions Fn( ) of all factory-balanced sensor elements being identical, and an being a sensor-individual factor. The shading corrector is implemented on the basis of a recording generated by means of the camera arrangement with the sensor elements, to change the sensor element-individual factors an so that intensity differences of the recording are balanced across the common object plane.

  • Patent number: 8798718
Abstract: In a magnetic resonance system and operating method, a series with a predetermined number of flip angles is established, that begins with a first flip angle that is smaller than the last flip angle of the series, and an arbitrary flip angle is greater than or equal to the preceding flip angle in the series. Respective predetermined regions of k-space are acquired that form first and second magnetic resonance data. Using a gradient echo sequence, each region is acquired during time interval as a series of components respectively with different flip angles in the series of flip angles. Each of the angiography magnetic resonance images has a flip angle range assigned thereto, and is formed by combining respective regions of k-space filled with components of the first and second magnetic resonance data that were acquired in that range.

  • Publication number: 20140168620
Abstract: A lithography tool is calibrated using a calibration substrate having a set of first marks distributed across its surface in a known pattern. The tool is operated to apply a pattern comprising a plurality of second marks at various positions on the substrate, each second mark overlying one of the first marks and being subject to an overlay error dependent on an apparatus-specific deviation. The second marks are applied by multiple exposures while the substrate remains loaded in the tool. An operating parameter of the apparatus is varied between the exposures. An overlay error is measured and used to calculate parameter-specific, apparatus-specific calibration data based on knowledge of the parameter variation used for each exposure.

  • Publication number: 20140168627
Abstract: A reticle is loaded into a lithographic apparatus. The apparatus performs measurements on the reticle, so as to calculate alignment parameters for transferring the pattern accurately to substrates. Tests are performed to detect possible contamination of the reticle or its support. Either operation proceeds with a warning, or the patterning of substrates is stopped. The test uses may use parameters of the alignment model itself, or different parameters. The integrity parameters may be compared against reference values reflecting historic measurements, so that sudden changes in a parameter are indicative of contamination. Integrity parameters may be calculated from residuals of the alignment model. In an example, height residuals are used to calculate parameters of residual wedge (Rx?) and residual roll (Ryy?). From these, integrity parameters expressed as height deviations are calculated and compared against thresholds.
