  • Patent number: 7415763
Abstract: In order to configure the bending of a plate in an intermediate space between two blade rings, arranged along an axis of a compressor and having blades extending along a radius in a simpler and more effective manner, the novel concept provides a bending device which can be positioned in the intermediate space and has, according to the invention, a fixing element for the bending device, a hydraulic system and a punch which can be actuated by the hydraulic system. Accordingly, a method for bending a plate in the intermediate space provides for a bending device to be positioned in the intermediate space, for the bending device to be fixed in the intermediate space, and for a punch of the bending device to be hydraulically actuated for bending the plate, the punch being moved toward the plate to be bent, and the plate being bent under the effect of the punch.

  • Publication number: 20080181768
Abstract: Disclosed is an axial rotor section for a rotor of a turbine, on which a sealing element, which is provided on an end side surface, is secured by means of a bolt against movement in the circumferential direction, with the bolt being reliably secured against becoming loose by means of a securing plate. One particular advantage of the invention is the comparatively simple and low-cost design, comprising a securing plate, a bolt, holes and grooves. Furthermore, these components can be fitted and removed quickly, because of their simple geometry.

  • Publication number: 20080163665
Abstract: The invention relates to a bending device for bending in a locking plate of a rotor of a turbine, by means of which a reliable fastening of the locking plate is carried out. The bending device comprises a mounting which has two sections, the first section of which is inserted into the groove of the rotor, and the second section of which, with the mounting inserted in the groove, projects from this groove. By means of a lever, which is rotatably mounted on the second section, the locking plate can be reliably bent over for securing a bolt against loss.

  • Publication number: 20040233223
Abstract: The invention provides improved interface tools, both physical and digital for performing two and three-dimensional spatial manipulation and two and three-dimensional gaming using a set of tangible tools. These tools are shaped to specific forms mimicking the tools' primary function. For example, one of the tools is shaped to resemble a pair of kitchen tongs, which gives the user the immediate perception that they are to be used for grabbing. Two physical or digital input devices can be used in conjunction to alter virtual objects. The invention also presents several novel tools to alter and generate three-dimensional objects, for example using an eraser tool, a deformation tool, a spray-painting tool, a smoothing tool, and a texture creation tool. The invention presents several novel means of interacting with video games using the tools mentioned above as a replacement for the standard joystick.

  • Patent number: 6285372
Abstract: An irregular connectivity mesh representative of a surface having an arbitrary topology is processed to generate a parameterization which maps points in a coarse base domain to points in the mesh. An illustrative embodiment uses a multi-level mesh simplification process in conjunction with conformal mapping to efficiently construct a parameterization of a mesh comprising a large number of triangles over a base domain comprising a smaller number of triangles. The parameterization in this embodiment corresponds to the inverse of function mapping each point in the original mesh to one of the triangles of the base domain, such that the original mesh can be reconstructed from the base domain and the parameterization. The mapping function is generated as a combination of a number of sub-functions, each of which relates data points in a mesh of one level in a simplification hierarchy to data points in a mesh of the next coarser level of the simplification hierarchy.

  • Patent number: 6144773
Abstract: A technique for compression and expansion of a function defined upon an M-dimensional manifold embedded in N-dimensional space uses a second generation wavelet transform and a modified zerotree bit-encoding scheme. Typically, a function is defined upon a two-dimensional manifold embedded in three-dimensional space, such as a sphere. A geometric base is chosen as a coarse initial model of the manifold. Second generation wavelets for the function are calculated using a triangular subdivision scheme in order to subdivide the geometric base in order to produce a refined triangular mesh. The wavelet coefficients are defined at the vertices of the triangles in the triangular mesh. A tree structure is created in which each node of the tree structure represents an associated triangle of the triangular mesh. Each triangle in the mesh is recursively subdivided into four subtriangles and each associated node in the tree structure also has four children, which correspond to the four subtriangles.

  • Patent number: 5732630
Abstract: A rubber blanket unit is structured having an underlying support plate with angled end legs, and an overlying rubber blanket with leading and trailing ends. The rubber blanket unit is secured to a blanket cylinder by insertion of the end legs into a thin cylinder slit. The rubber blanket ends are formed each having a reduced thickness and each further having a closure element. The leading and trailing blanket end closures cooperate to form an essentially seamless rubber blanket when the blanket unit is in place. The blanket ends are not dislodged by mechanical or chemical cleaning.

  • Patent number: 5653169
Abstract: A rubber blanket cylinder for offset printing utilizes a cylinder body that has magnetic strips to retain a rubber blanket packing comprised of a rubber blanket and a ferromagnetic rubber blanket support. A fastening strip is positioned on the circumference of the cylinder body and extends axially along the cylinder. The rubber blanket packing is prevented from wandering or shifting by the fastening strip. A free end of the fastening strip is covered by the rubber blanket which is thus fastened on the cylinder body in an essentially gap-free manner.

  • Patent number: 5644984
Abstract: A plate clamping device which is usable to secure at least one end of a flexible plate to a cylinder utilizes a group of spring fingers that are shiftable radially in an axially extending slit in the cylinder to engage apertures in the end of the plate. The spring fingers have barbs that are receivable in these plate end apertures. The spring fingers are shiftable radially in the cylinder slit by rotation of a spindle situated in the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4534290
Abstract: An ink dispensing system for a printing press having an ink trough of a fountain roller and comprising a plurality of radially oriented ink spreader assemblies arranged closely side-by-side to form a substantially continuous metering edge for zonal metering of a film of ink on the fountain roller as it rotates. Each printer assembly includes a bearing member and a dispensing member, the bearing member having a tip of narrow dimension and the dispensing member having a film-forming edge. Each bearing member is biased so that its tip rides in contact with the surface of the roller to establish a positional reference for adjustment of the dispensing member. An adjusting screw mounted on the bearing member and engaging the dispensing member is adapted to retract the dispensing member a small distance rearwardly of the tip of the bearing member to thereby determine the zonal thickness of the ink film formed on the surface of the roller by the dispensing member.

  • Patent number: 4491249
Abstract: The liquid food dispenser comprises a housing (1) including a removable liquid food container (6). At a shaft (3) supported by the housing (1), a scoop arm (4) with a cup (5) and an external actuation lever (2) are provided and by swiveling the latter, the cup (5) is lifted out of the liquid food container (6) and tilted simultaneously thus evacuating its content into an inclined collecting channel (7) extending into an outlet (8). Upon lifting the cup (5) the solid components contained in the liquid food are uniformly distributed by being stirred in the liquid food container thus ensuring that the amount of solid components in the individual portions is equal.
