  • Patent number: 9943269
Abstract: A first medical device can receive a physiological parameter value from a second medical device. The second physiological parameter value may be formatted according to a protocol not used by the first medical device such that the first medical device is not able to process the second physiological parameter value to produce a displayable output value. The first medical device can pass the physiological parameter data from the first medical device to a separate translation module and receive translated parameter data from the translation module at the first medical device. The translated parameter data can be processed for display by the first medical device. The first medical device can output a value from the translated parameter data for display on the first medical device or an auxiliary device.

  • Publication number: 20170361101
Abstract: A method of controlling a neural stimulus by use of feedback. The neural stimulus is applied to a neural pathway in order to give rise to an evoked action potential on the neural pathway. The stimulus is defined by at least one stimulus parameter. A neural compound action potential response evoked by the stimulus is measured. From the measured evoked response a feedback variable is derived. A feedback loop is completed by using the feedback variable to control the at least one stimulus parameter value. The feedback loop adaptively compensates for changes in a gain of the feedback loop caused by electrode movement relative to the neural pathway.

Abstract: Provided are methods and compositions for treating an individual who has a medulloblastoma. Methods for treating an individual who has a medulloblastoma tumor can include a step of administering to the individual, at a dose sufficient to reduce the size and/or growth rate of the medulloblastoma tumor, a composition that includes a casein kinase II (CK2) inhibitor (e.g., a CK2-selective inhibitor such as CX-4945). In some cases, the medulloblastoma tumor is a hedgehog-dependent medulloblastoma tumor. In some cases, the medulloblastoma tumor is a hedgehog-independent medulloblastoma tumor. In some cases, the medulloblastoma tumor is smoothened inhibitor-resistant (SMO inhibitor-resistant). In some cases, the medulloblastoma is resistant to treatment with 4,5,6,7-tetrabromo-2H-benzotriazole (TBB). In some cases, the dose is sufficient to cause long term regression of the medulloblastoma tumor, and in some cases, the dose is sufficient to increase the chance of survival of the individual.

  • Publication number: 20170294418
Abstract: At least one array of LEDs (e.g., in a flip chip configuration) is supported by a substrate having a light extraction surface overlaid with at least one lumiphoric material. Light segregation elements registered with gaps between LEDs are configured to reduce interaction between emissions of different LEDs and/or lumiphoric material regions to reduce scattering and/or optical crosstalk, thereby preserving pixel-like resolution of the resulting emissions. Light segregation elements may be formed by mechanical sawing or etching to define grooves or recesses in a substrate, and filling the grooves or recesses with light-reflective or light-absorptive material. Light segregation elements external to a substrate may be defined by photolithographic patterning and etching of a sacrificial material, and/or by 3D printing.
