Abstract: A combination hair-dryer and garment ironing apparatus includes a housing having an air inlet and a pair of air outlets. A blower and electric heater in the housing create a flow of heated air through the housing. A permanent, non-removable iron assembly is provided on the housing and includes a sole plate disposed in the path of the heated air flow through the housing. The sole plate forms a portion of a wall of the housing and has an exposed generally flat ironing surface. A heated air diverter member within the housing is selectively movable between a first dryer position in which substantially all of the heated air flowing through the housing is diverted from contact with the sole plate and is exhausted through one of the outlets and a second iron position in which a substantial portion of the heated air flow is diverted into contact with at least a portion of the sole plate for impingement heating of the sole plate to an ironing temperature and is exhausted from the other air outlet.

Abstract: The apparatus includes a flexible hose having a first fitting at one end for attachment to a deflated tire and a second fitting at the other end for attachment to an inflated tire from which air is to be transferred to the deflated tire. The second fitting has a spring biased check valve for cutting off flow from the inflated tire to the deflated tire when the pressure entering the second fitting is below a predetermined level.

Abstract: A microwave oven having the control panel mounted on the door. The control panel includes a plurality of pushbutton switches for the user to push to control the speed, time, etc. for variable cooking in the microwave oven. The switches communicate to an electronic controller also mounted on the door. The controller converts user input into signals that control the various operating components of the oven, such as the magnetron. The controller is connected with these components via a flexible printed circuit cable which bridges the space between the door and the oven near or through the hinge area of the oven.

Abstract: A stable tripod for an optical telescope comprises a head having an inwardly facing circular side wall, three legs, each having a shoe located at its upper end adapted to engage and push outwardly against the circular wall and having a lower end for engaging a surface upon which the support rests, means cooperating with said legs and providing a pivot whereby motion of the lower ends of said legs in an inward direction results in outward motion of the shoes against the wall, and means for urging the lower ends of the legs inwardly in order to urge the shoes tightly against the wall.
