  • Publication number: 20240398238
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for, for example, periodically collecting physiological parameters in real-time from a plurality of subjects, for example temperature from cancer patients, heartbeat rates from persons being treated for coronary conditions, physiological orientation information mechanical shock and related parameters, for example from football players in danger of head trauma, and other physiological measurements which it real-time convey useful information. This information is coupled to a system which integrates the information, subjects it to criteria (for example doctor-specified dangerous condition criteria), communicates information and, optionally provides alarms to clinicians. The invention allows for real-time monitoring of skull impacts, for example to players in a sports game, allowing the reliable identification of dangerous impacts at a quick determination whether I had cooling device should be promptly applied to minimize long-term injury.

  • Patent number: 12158377
Abstract: A microstructured optical fiber sensor for sensing changes in a physical characteristic up to a predetermined temperature is disclosed. The sensor includes a microstructured optical fiber and a fiber Bragg grating formed in the microstructured optical fiber by generating a periodic modulation in the refractive index along a core region of the suspended core. The fiber Bragg grating is configured to produce a band reflection spectra including a fundamental mode and a plurality of higher order modes whose respective wavelengths vary in accordance with changes in the physical characteristic at the core region of the microstructured optical fiber. The microstructured optical fiber is configured to increase the confinement loss of the plurality of higher order modes of the band reflection spectra relative to the fundamental mode.

  • Patent number: 11070498
Abstract: A computer-implemented method and system for enabling network communication using common search queries and sponsored chat links is disclosed. Various embodiments relate to a computer-implemented system and method for receiving a sponsored concept from a sponsoring company, receiving a search query from a user, determining if the sponsored concept and the user search query fit within match criteria, generating for the user, if the sponsored concept and the user search query fit within match criteria, a link enabling the user to initiate a private conversation between the user and an agent of the sponsoring company, the link being a user interface element that can be activated by the user, the private conversation being accessible only to the user and the agent of the sponsoring company, and initiating a private conversation between the user and the agent of the sponsoring company upon activation of the link.

  • Publication number: 20170118305
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to users viewing and referring cards of content to other users. A user may refer a card by endorsing the card. By friending other users, users form a social network. Thus, a user may refer a card to friends, friends of friends, and other users. Cards may include one or more card tallies that are specific to a particular user. Card tallies may refer to the number of friends, of the particular user, that have endorsed the card, the number of friends of friends that have endorsed the card, and other users that have endorsed the card. By viewing the card tallies, the particular user may determine a utility of the card based on the number of the user's friends that have endorsed the card, the number of friends of friends that have endorsed the card, and the number of other users that have endorsed the card.

  • Publication number: 20170094460
Abstract: An apparatus for communicating with wireless devices is described. The apparatus in one form includes a shrouded antenna arrangement (700) which is arranged to produce a radiated field forming a pre-determined detection zone having a boundary, spaced apart from the arrangement. Outside of the boundary the energy of the radiated field is below a pre-determined cut-off threshold. The shrouded antenna arrangement (700) in one form comprises an antenna (705) within an RFAM shroud (710). The RFAM shroud (710) may then have an absorption profile that varies around the antenna to form the detection zone.

  • Publication number: 20170075659
Abstract: A system and method for dynamically creating web applications from data is described. Simple data is transformed into a declarative application data model that is then parsed by a server and compiled into a functional web application. Application functionality is partly determined by rules applied to web application objects in response to user actions. These rules are triggered by various cues, including user actions and relationships among objects in the web applications. A web application is considered an n-dimensional problem space, and relationships among application objects can be modeled using set theory. The status of a particular relationship among objects and user actions can trigger specific application behavior. Additionally application behavior can be triggered in other ways, like conditions in arbitrary scripts or combinations of multiple triggers combined using logical connectives.
