  • Publication number: 20150287401
Abstract: Techniques disclosed herein include systems and methods for privacy-sensitive training data collection for updating acoustic models of speech recognition systems. In one embodiment, the system locally creates adaptation data from raw audio data. Such adaptation can include derived statistics and/or acoustic model update parameters. The derived statistics and/or updated acoustic model data can then be sent to a speech recognition server or third-party entity. Since the audio data and transcriptions are already processed, the statistics or acoustic model data is devoid of any information that could be human-readable or machine readable such as to enable reconstruction of audio data. Thus, such converted data sent to a server does not include personal or confidential information. Third-party servers can then continually update speech models without storing personal and confidential utterances of users.

  • Publication number: 20140280281
Abstract: A system and method for formatting in a database are disclosed. A request for data in a database is received from an application. The request includes one or more formatting functions to be performed on the data to display a result of the request in a graphical user interface generated by the application. The formatting functions are executed at the database to restructure the request. A query of the data in the database is then generated based on the restructured request, the query including only data to display in the graphical user interface according to the request. Then, a result of the query is returned from the database to the application for display in the graphical user interface.

  • Publication number: 20130260050
Abstract: The invention has been based on original way of surface modification of solid substrates for efficient phosphorylated peptide preconcentration from complex peptide mixtures prior to detection based on desorption/ionization mass spectrometry. The subject of protection is the method of surface functionalization by ambient ion landing. The approach was based on electronebulization (electrospray) of solutions of organometallic compounds related to elements of 4B class of periodic table of elements, especially to zirconium, hafnium and titanium. The generated charged electrospray was dried on the fly by passing the heated compartment and focused to a surface forming a stable oxide layer there. The surface modified this way has been used for phosphopeptide enrichment from peptide mixtures prior to desorption/ionization mass spectrometry.

  • Publication number: 20130179797
Abstract: This disclosure provides various embodiments for providing UI services. An application-independent, reusable UI framework receives a request from a first application, to perform a first operation on a first set of data relating to presentation of the first set of data on a UI. A subset of the first set of data is received from a data provider independent of the UI framework. At least one first service is identified in response, the first service hosted by the UI framework and adapted to perform the first operation on the first set of data. The first operation is performed on the subset of the first set of data using the at least one identified first service to produce a first processed set of data adapted for presentation on a UI of the first application. The first processed set of data is sent to the first application.

  • Publication number: 20110297820
Abstract: Pseudacyclin and method of indication of a fungus Pseudallescheria boydii Pseudacyclins are secondary metabolites isolated from a filamentous fungus Pseudallescheria boydii. They reveal a cyclic-like structure which is represented by a cyclopeptide backbone consisting of an amino acid sequence: ornithine-phenylalanine-proline-isoleucine-the fifth amino acid. This cycle is completed by a peptide bond condensed from an amino group on a C? of ornithine and a carboxyl group of the fifth amino acid, which is variable. The peptides further contain a side chain represented by a second variable residue, which is the sixth amino acid bound to the cyclopeptide skeleton. The attachment is made through a peptide bond originated from the condensation of the amino group at C? of ornithine and carboxyl group of this sixth amino acid residue. Pseudacyclins as specific products of secondary metabolism of a pathogenic filamentous fungus Pseudallescheria boydii are useful as disease markers.
