  • Publication number: 20180077573
Abstract: Cellular networks regularly operate with trusted devices, which typically are trusted because of the integration of a SIM card therewith. Untrusted devices typically do not interface with a SIM card, and rely on user input through traditional user interfaces for authentication. Recently, the use of hands-free, always-on digital assistant devices have become more common. Such devices typically have only a voice user interface that may be used by a number of people in close proximity to the device. Particular problems arise in such a scenario when a user wants to access a secure service that requires user authentication. Such problems are addressed with multiple techniques described herein.

  • Publication number: 20180076834
Abstract: Described herein are systems configured for inter-band carrier aggregation. Systems include a multiplexing circuit having a switching network and diplexers wherein the switching network is configured to share inductors between multiple paths of the multiplexing circuit. The filters can be designed so that when operated simultaneously (e.g., during multi-band operation) the same inductance can be used allowing the switching network to switch in a particular inductance into the path. The described systems can include an inductance that is coupled to an output port so that when operating in single-band mode, the different paths share the same inductance. Relative to other solutions, the described systems can improve performance (e.g., reduce insertion loss), reduce the number of components in the associated module, reduce manufacturing costs, and the like.

  • Patent number: 9422950
Abstract: A piston-cylinder actuator includes a unique mount for an absolute-position sensor. The mount is made from a bearing material provides a flexible connection between the sensor mount and the cylinder housing. This flexible connection allows the piston rod to deflect naturally, under its own weight or under other laterally-directed forces, while maintaining the distance and perpendicularity between the sensor and the rod surface, within acceptable limits. The sensor mount is made from a bearing material that will allow it to float directly on the rod surface without scuffing or otherwise damaging the rod surface, particularly the markings or other indicia on that surface. Due to the flexible connection between the sensor mount and the cylinder housing, the proper distance between the sensor and the rod surface can be maintained at all times.
