  • Patent number: 8515596
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method and system for flying a ducted-fan aerial vehicle, such as an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The method includes receiving a flight plan comprising a plurality of waypoints and a plurality of path segments connecting the plurality of waypoints in an order of execution. The method further includes determining actual flight instructions for the ducted fan unmanned aerial vehicle based on (i) the received flight plan, (ii) a predetermined set of operating parameters associated with the ducted fan unmanned aerial vehicle, and (iii) an iterative analysis of a plurality of ordered triples. The method further includes sending the actual flight instructions to at least one processor of the ducted fan unmanned aerial vehicle configured to implement one or more portions of the actual flight instructions.

  • Publication number: 20130171382
Abstract: A hollow injection-molded product has a sidewall that is formed in a mold cavity by injecting molding material. An interior surface of the sidewall includes at least one ridge that is shaped by a flow channel in the mold cavity. The flow channel directs the flow of the injected molding material in the mold cavity. The cross-sectional dimension of the ridge normal to the direction of flow of the molding material that is injected in the flow channel generally decreases in the direction of flow. A label is inserted into the mold cavity prior to injection of the molding material so that the label is on the exterior surface of the sidewall of the hollow product.

  • Publication number: 20130125431
Abstract: A hollow multi-layered container comprises: an outer layer including a label and an inner layer, which is injection molded. The label has a barrier material that impedes one or more substances that emanate from a product from penetrating through the label, and the label displays information related to the product. The inner layer and the barrier material of the outer layer are substantially coextensive. For a container having a sidewall and an inclined shoulder extending inward from the sidewall, the label includes a primary segment covering the sidewall of the container and a plurality of shoulder pads covering the shoulder in at least approximately contiguous alignment with adjacent said shoulder pads.

  • Patent number: 8425813
Abstract: The dimensions of a portion of an injection molded hollow product formed in a mold cavity between a first cavity surface of a cavity section and a first core surface of a core section are adjusted by adjusting the position of the first cavity surface relative to the position of the first core surface so that the first cavity surface and the first core surface are in a selected relative position when the cavity section is combined with the core section and a protractible and retractable core part is protracted so that a cavity abutment mold part can be connected directly to the protracted core part and the cavity abutment mold part also can be connected indirectly to the protracted core part by a series consisting of abutting mold parts. This series includes a pair of abutting rotatable eccentric rings, which are rotated to adjust the relative positions of the first cavity surface and the first core surface.

  • Publication number: 20130091821
Abstract: A decelerator apparatus for mounting at the end of a pneumatic or gravity-fed fruit harvesting or delivery tube. The decelerator comprises a housing with a moving decelerator body aligned with a fruit-receiving inlet connected to the delivery tube. The decelerator body, for example a padded rotating wheel, moves at a speed slower than the speed at which the fruit is delivered into the housing, includes multiple depressions or indentations for receiving and separating fruit, and further defines a compressive deceleration path that moves the fruit in a compressive but protective fit toward a housing exit, releasing the fruit after the fruit has been decelerated to the speed of the moving body.

  • Publication number: 20110122142
Abstract: Systems and methods for protecting display presentation information are presented. In one embodiment, graphics processing method includes receiving presentation information; performing an unauthorized display protection process; and forwarding result of the alteration in the presentation information. In one exemplary implementation the unauthorized display protection process introduces a characteristic in the graphics data signal that is compatible with an authorized display (e.g., trusted display, internal display, etc.) while distorting the graphics data signal in a manner that is not compatible with accurate presentation by an unauthorized display (e.g., untrusted display, external display, etc.). It is appreciated that a variety of characteristics that can be introduced or altered in the presentation information signal. In one embodiment, alterations are made to standard control signals (e.g., stuffing begin/end indications, blank start/end indications, reset indicators, etc.
