  • Publication number: 20240051862
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods are described for controlling the thickness of glass during glass sheet production. The apparatuses and methods employ a laser beam to heat a particular portion of the molten glass. In some examples, a laser beam control system controls the laser beam to generate a more consistent glass thickness across the glass sheet. In some examples, the laser beam control system multiplexes the laser beam to heat various portions of the glass, for example, simultaneously.

  • Publication number: 20240019313
Abstract: A method for monitoring temperature includes receiving, via at least one connector of a slotted assembly disposed in an electrical panel, data from at least one of a wire temperature probe and a one ambient temperature probe associated with the slotted assembly, the wire temperature probe being configured to sense a temperature of a corresponding load wire associated with at least one electrical breaker of the electrical panel, and the ambient temperature probe being configured to sense an ambient temperature associated with the slotted assembly. The method also includes determining, based on the data from at least one of the wire temperature probe and the ambient temperature probe, a condition of one of the at least one electrical breaker and the electrical panel. The method also includes generating an output indicating the condition of the at least one of the at least one electrical breaker and the electrical panel.

  • Publication number: 20240010383
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure relate to tray modules and tray assemblies made from interconnected tray modules. The modular tray assemblies can be used in indoor farming with a soilless growth medium to germinate seeds, develop plants from the germinated seeds, and harvest the developed plants. The tray modules making up a tray assembly are interchangeable and can be made from the same mold design. This can reduce production costs for making tray modules and can reduce the inventory of replacement parts needed to repair tray assemblies.

  • Patent number: 11745931
Abstract: A cooling element for cooling a body, comprising a heat conduction layer coterminous with a proximal side of the cooling element, a heat retardant layer coterminous with a distal side of the cooling element, and a heat sink volume disposed between the heat conduction and heat retardant layers, extending from a proximal boundary with the heat conduction layer to a distal boundary with the heat retardant layer. The heat sink volume comprises a porous material including a first substance; and the heat conduction layer comprises a porous material including a second substance. The first and second substances have thermal properties such that the first substance will solidify at a first temperature, the second substance being in the liquid state at the first temperature. The heat retardant layer has a lower mean thermal conductivity than the heat conduction layer.

  • Publication number: 20230221261
Abstract: A method for inspecting a transparent workpiece comprises: directing light from an illumination source onto a plurality of defects formed in the transparent workpiece, wherein the plurality of defects extends in a defect direction, wherein the transparent workpiece comprises a first surface and a second surface; detecting a scattering image signal from light scattered by the plurality of defects using an imaging system, wherein an imaging axis of the imaging system extends at a non-zero imaging angle relative to the defect direction, wherein entireties of at least a subset of the plurality of defects are within a depth of field of the imaging system; and generating a three-dimensional image of at least one of the plurality of defects based on the scattering signal.

  • Patent number: 11698017
Abstract: Defect detection systems include at least one nozzle for delivering a CO2 particulate fluid to an inlet end of a plugged honeycomb body. Defects in the honeycomb, if any, are determined by monitoring CO2 particulate flow at the outlet end of the honeycomb body. Methods for detecting defects in plugged honeycomb bodies are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11668538
Abstract: A compact action for a firearm including an upper receiver housing incorporating a barrel. A bolt and supporting carrier is positioned within the receiver housing so that the bolt is engaged to a rear receiver end of the barrel in a cartridge chambering position. Guide rods are supported within the housing above the barrel and extend in parallel to a rear located end plate. The carrier includes a carrier key supported by and displaceable along the guide rods between the barrel and a rearward bumper component. A gas tube extends from a forward located gas block overlaying a gas discharge aperture in the barrel to a gas key for actuating the carrier rearwardly following discharge of a ballistic from the barrel. A charging handle is manually displaceable along a slot in the housing for actuating an interior slider component, in turn actuating the carrier key to cycle the carrier and bolt.
