  • Publication number: 20080029541
Abstract: A disposable ingredient cartridge for beverage dispense apparatus (FIG. 5) comprises a moulded plastic two-piece shell 33a, 33b with an ingredient reservoir 34. A one-way valve 35 leads into the reservoir 34 for filling the reservoir 34 with ingredient. Two non-return valves 36, 37 lead into and out of a chamber 38 and a pump piston 39 attached to a drive member 40 connectable to an external drive (not shown) via the piston shaft 41 is movable within the chamber 38 to vary the size of the chamber 38. In use, when the drive member 40 is driven in one direction, the piston 39 moves drawing ingredient from the reservoir 34 through non-return valve 36 into chamber 38 and, when the drive member 40 is driven in the other direction, the piston 39 pushes the ingredient out of chamber 38 through non-return valve 37 down a flexible tube 42 and out of a tip valve 43. The tip valve 43 is attached to a mounting piece 44 receivable by the apparatus such that the tip valve will be in a flow of diluent.

  • Publication number: 20070116260
Abstract: A termination circuit includes a low-pass filter configured to couple to a first signal line and a second signal line. An activation circuit is coupled to the low-pass filter. A termination impedance is coupled to the activation circuit. A detector circuit is coupled to the low-pass filter. The detector circuit is configured to detect a signal on the first signal line and the second signal line. A control circuit is coupled to an output from the detector circuit. The control circuit is configured to determine if the signal corresponds to a predefined class of telephone service and to select a state of the activation circuit in accordance with the determination.

  • Publication number: 20050145650
Abstract: The present invention is a valve that provides for automatic and accurate fluid dispensing of two fluids at a predetermined ratio. The valve is designed to be easily assembled and disassembled by hand without the need for hand tools, and includes a diluent flow body and a concentrate flow body releasably securable to a common nozzle body portion. The diluent and concentrate flow bodies each define a flow channel and each include a first end for connection to sources of diluent and concentrate respectively, and an opposite end for fluid connection with the nozzle body. The diluent body flow channel includes a flow sensor connected to a micro-controller for sensing the flow rate of the diluent. The concentrate body flow channel includes a further flow sensor for sensing the flow rate of the concentrate. Stepper motors are secured to both the diluent and concentrate bodies and each operates a linear rod extending there through and through a flow regulator.

  • Patent number: 6393548
Abstract: A PCI interface is provided to support a 16- or 32-bit PCI host employing little-endian or big-endian byte ordering. The PCI interface may be arranged on a multiport switch to enable a PCI host to access internal registers and an external memory via a PCI bus. When a 16-bit PCI host is provided with access to a 32-bit internal register, two consecutive 16-bit data transfers are performed. The first 16 bits of data are temporarily stored in a holding register until the following 16 bits are transferred. The PCI host accesses the external memory via posting write buffers and prefetch read buffers arranged between an external memory interface and the PCI interface. When the multiport switch is configured to support a big-endian PCI host, bytes of a word transferred between the external memory and a write or read buffer are swapped to rearrange byte ordering of the word.
