    Abstract: A method for removing a guided wave noise in a time-domain may include recording one or more acoustic signals with one or more receivers at a first location, wherein the one or more acoustic signals are raw data. The method may further include determining a slowness range, estimating a downward guided wave noise by stacking the one or more acoustic signals based at least in part on a positive slowness, estimating an upward guided wave noise by stacking the one or more acoustic signals based at least in part on a negative slowness, and identifying a dominant direction of propagation. The method may further include identifying a slowness from a highest stacked amplitude for the dominant direction of propagation, estimating a downward guided wave noise with the slowness, estimating an upward guided wave noise with the slowness, and subtracting the downward guided wave noise and the upward guided wave noise.

    Abstract: A method of laundering fabrics includes: a) contacting a laundry detergent to water to form a wash liquor, wherein the laundry detergent includes detersive surfactant, wherein the wash liquor includes detersive surfactant at a concentration in the range of from 100 ppm to 2500 ppm; b) contacting fabric to the wash liquor, and washing the fabric in the wash liquor; c) after a period of time of at least 6 minutes from contacting the fabric to the wash liquor, introducing calcium cations into the wash liquor to form a calcium enriched wash liquor, wherein the calcium enriched wash liquor includes calcium cations at a concentration in the range of from 20 ppm to 400 ppm; d) washing the fabric in the calcium-enriched wash liquor for a period of time of at least 2 minutes; and e) removing the excess calcium-enriched wash liquor from the fabric, and rinsing the fabric in water.

    Abstract: Disclosed is an in vitro method for assessing whether a human patient has periodontitis. The method is based on the insight to determine biomarker proteins. Accordingly, in a sample of saliva a patient suffering from periodontitis, the concentrations are measured of two or more of the proteins Matrix metalloproteinase-8 (MMP-8), Matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9), Pyruvate Kinase (PK) and S100 calcium-binding protein A8 (S100A8). Based on the concentrations as measured, a value is determined reflecting the joint concentrations for said proteins. This value is compared with a threshold value reflecting in the same manner the joint concentrations associated with periodontitis. The comparison allows assessing whether the testing value is indicative of the presence of periodontitis in said patient.
