  • Patent number: 11951866
Abstract: A method for determining an operating temperature of a battery cell in which (i) a value of a measure variable for determining an external temperature of the battery cell is detected, (ii) an internal temperature of the battery cell is determined by detecting an electrical impedance of the battery cell, and (iii) a value of the operating temperature of the battery cell is determined from the external and/or the internal temperature. The internal temperature of the battery cell in a first operating state of the battery cell is determined more frequently when the value of the determined external temperature, the internal temperature and/or the operating temperature lies within a predefined first safe range, and is determined less frequently when the value of the determined external temperature, the internal temperature and/or the operating temperature lies outside the predefined first safe range.

  • Publication number: 20240113343
Abstract: A method for monitoring a battery system having a battery module that has a plurality of battery cells. A battery management system is not active in a sleep mode of the battery system. The method includes monitoring a measured value in the sleep mode by a sensor arrangement and comparing the measured value with default values by the sensor arrangement. A wake-up signal is triggered when the measured value deviates from the default values which ends the sleep mode, activates the battery management system, and starts an emergency mode. The method also includes alternatively triggering the wake-up signal when a predefined wake-up time is passed and determining and predefining a new wake-up time and new default values before the battery management system switches into the sleep mode again.
