  • Patent number: 7925971
Abstract: A method and apparatus for converting documents from one format to another in a speed efficient way involves a hardware module which implements several operating pipeline stages which work in parallel. The transformations are supplied and decomposed into sequences of control units. The transformation of documents consists of applying control unit sequences to input documents. The control units are themselves executed by a set of dedicated hardware resources. Furthermore the pipeline is capable of operating on more than one document at a time. Fast document transformation is a key capability of document processing systems. The use of parallel processing techniques and hardware that implements highly specialized transformation resources make this invention particularly scalable for its use in large, high speed content networks.

  • Publication number: 20100278007
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a stirring apparatus which can exhibit excellent stirring characteristics in a wide range of viscous regions and which can reduce the mixing time. A stirring apparatus includes a stirred tank having a bottomed cylinder shape, a rotation shaft concentrically or substantially concentrically disposed inside the stirred tank, and a bottom blade that extends from the rotation shaft so as to extend in a radial direction and a vertical direction, of the stirred tank, and a lower edge of the bottom blade has a shape conforming to a bottom wall surface of the stirred tank. Here, a clearance is formed between the lower edge of the bottom blade and the lower wall surface and the clearance satisfies the following condition: 1% of the inner diameter of the stirred tank<the clearance<4.5% of the inner diameter of the stirred tank.

  • Patent number: 7702864
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for copying data from a volatile memory device to a plurality of persistent storage devices in response to a loss of primary power. The apparatus includes a section module, a stripe module, and a write module. The section module sections a data image of a write cache into a plurality of data blocks. The stripe module establishes a plurality of data stripes from the plurality of data blocks. The write module writes in parallel each of the plurality of data stripes to a corresponding plurality of unique, persistent data storage devices in response to a loss of line power to the write cache. Advantageously, the apparatus quickly copies the write data from the write cache to a persistent memory device in a relatively short period of time, decreasing the dependence on significant batteries to back up the volatile memory device.

  • Patent number: 7552106
Abstract: Provided are a method, system, deployment and article of manufacture, for variable length file entry navigation. In one embodiment, a first file entry size portion of a first entry marker at a first end of a file entry is read. A position of a second entry marker at a second end of the file entry may be calculated as a function of the first file entry size portion. A determination may be made as to whether file data at the calculated position is a second entry marker, and if so whether the file data between said first and second entry markers is a valid entry by comparing the first entry size portion of the first entry marker to a second file entry size portion of the second entry marker. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
