  • Publication number: 20080173002
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for treating an airflow, laden with oil particles, flowing in a tube (9) communicating with a rolling bearing enclosure of a gas turbine engine, wherein said airflow is made to travel into a coking box (20) associated with a heating means, in which the air is heated to a sufficient temperature to coke the oil particles contained in the airflow. Preferably, the solid residues produced by the coking are collected in the coking box (20).

  • Publication number: 20030047276
Abstract: A method of installing a tubular member in an inaccessible cavity includes a step of cleaning the internal wall of the cavity, a step of bringing the tubular member into contact with retaining members, and a step of fixing the tubular member by pressing it against the wall of the cavity. The method comprises three successive phases. A first phase comprises the step of cleaning the internal wall of the cavity and a step of topographically surveying the internal wall of the cavity. A second phase comprises a step of determining a position on the internal wall for retaining members for retaining the tubular member and a step of installing on the internal wall retaining members for retaining the tubular member and fixing members for fixing the retaining members to the wall.

  • Patent number: 6379480
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for producing parts made of thin, light and rigid metal alloy essentially having the following steps: producing a core having the part shape; producing cavities in the core; producing shells made of metal alloy combined with reinforcing fibers with high modulus of elasticity; densifying the shells; and diffusion welding of the shells on the core by compression at temperature and pressure conditions for isothermal forging of the metal alloy used.

  • Patent number: 6034012
Abstract: Composite material comprising a CAS+BAS vitroceramic matrix reinforced with SiC fibers and exhibiting a small difference between the thermal expansion coefficients of the matrix and the fibers is obtained by using a matrix having a BaO/(BaO+CaO) molar ratio of between 25% and 55% and predominant phases of triclinic anorthite and monoclinic celsian.

  • Patent number: 5733495
Abstract: A blank consisting of a spirally wound fiber for use in the manufacture of a fiber reinforced article of composite material is made by winding the fiber onto a helical track on the surface of a frusto-conical spindle, covering the wound fiber with a thermoplastic binder which sets to form a frusto-conical shell encasing the fiber, removing the shell from the spindle and placing the shell with its base on a plate, and heating the shell starting from its base so as to soften it and cause it to progressively collapse onto the plate to form a disc comprising a spirally wound fiber. If necessary the collapse of the shell may be assisted by pressing on the shell in a direction towards the plate.

  • Patent number: 5642851
Abstract: An apparatus for producing a circular metal article reinforced by fibres in selected parts of its cross-section is described in which a metal blank of the article is formed and provided with at least one annular groove opening in the axial direction, preforms of reinforcing fibre and filler metal are placed in the groove which is then closed by a metal plug, and the assembly is isothermally forged to produce the article in a single forging step which serves to compress the preforms, weld the assembly together, and shape the article. Such articles may be used for machining high performance rotors for turbojet engines.
