  • Patent number: 8751398
Abstract: An approach for preventing unauthorized card transactions is presented. An authorization record including an authorized geographic location and an authorized period of time is received from a travel reservation system (TRS) and stored to dynamically update a profile table that stores other authorization records. The authorization record identifies an itinerary specified by travel booking(s) purchased via the TRS using a debit or credit card. The itinerary specifies that the cardholder is scheduled to be in the authorized geographic location for the authorized period of time. In response to receiving a request for an authorization of a card transaction, a location and date associated with the card transaction are retrieved from the request. The card transaction is rejected based on a determination that the retrieved location is not within authorized geographic locations included in the stored authorization records that have authorized time periods that include the retrieved date.

  • Patent number: 8369578
Abstract: A method and system of position determination using image deformation is provided. One implementation involves storing an actual tag in a reference data module, receiving an image of a visual tag, the image captured by an image capturing device, comparing properties of the visual tag with properties of the actual tag; and based the comparison, determining a position of the image capturing device relative to the visual tag.

  • Patent number: 8155387
Abstract: A method and system of position determination using image deformation is provided. One implementation involves receiving an image of a visual tag, the image captured by an image capturing device, wherein the visual tag has a predefined position associated therewith; based on the image determining a distance of the image capturing device from the visual tag, and determining an angular position of the image capturing device relative to the visual tag; and determining position of the image capturing device based on said distance and said angular position.

  • Publication number: 20090068409
Abstract: The invention relates to a skin cleansing and/or care article, such as a makeup remover pad based on hydrophilic cotton fibres, intended to apply and/or remove liquid or semi-solid substances to/from the skin, comprising at least two outer layers (10a, 10b) made of an absorbent fibrous material that are joined together and at least one series of yarns (10d) placed between said outer layers (10a, 10b), the thickness of at least one of the outer layers (10b) being less than the average diameter of the yarns so as to create a raised pattern at the surface of the article. Thus configured, the invention is capable of providing a skin cleansing and/or care article having a raised pattern at its surface which is formed not by compression of laps of fibres, but by the presence, under the outer layers of the article, of a series of yarns having a large diameter.
