  • Publication number: 20080292019
Abstract: The present invention is related to a circuit for encoding at least two input symbols by means of a space-time block code, comprising a plurality of multiplexers, each arranged to receive the input symbols and to output a selected symbol, storing means for storing information on which input symbol is to be selected in each multiplexer of the plurality of multiplexers and for storing gain factor information to multiply the multiplexer outputs with, calculation means, coupled with the storing means, for determining an encoded version of the input symbols based on the multiplexer outputs and corresponding gain factors stored in the storing means. The invention further discloses a corresponding circuit for space-time block decoding.

  • Publication number: 20080101492
Abstract: A method for tracking and compensating phase noise in an OFDM communication system, includes: applying to the OFDM communication system a signal comprising a set of pilot tones, each pilot tone comprising a pilot symbol, prerotating the signal applied to the OFDM communication system, constructing for each pilot tone a reference value for the pilot symbol on that pilot tone, said reference value taking into account the distortion the signal has undergone, correlating for each pilot tone comprised in the prerotated signal the reference value with the pilot symbol, yielding a phase offset value for that pilot tone, averaging the various phase offset values of the pilot tones to yield an averaged offset value, indicative of the phase noise, rotating the received symbol according to the averaged offset value, such that the phase noise is compensated for.

  • Publication number: 20070082032
Abstract: The invention relates to a skin care pad comprising exfoliating elements (4) which are distributed between at least one first fibrous layer (2) and a second fibrous layer (6), said second layer having a lower basis weight than the first fibrous layer. In this way, the inventive pad can be used daily, in order to exfoliate and massage the skin and to remove make-up.

  • Publication number: 20070017840
Abstract: The object of the invention is a stacking of fibrous pads, in particular impregnated pads, for skin care, capable of being contained in packaging. According to the invention, each pad is positioned in a staggered manner in relation to the juxtaposed pad(s) so as to promote the grasping by one of the edges of each pad situated on the top of the stack. The invention also relates to resealable packaging containing the stacking as well as to a manufacturing process for preparing the stacking.

  • Publication number: 20070000082
Abstract: The invention relates to a skin care article exhibiting a scrub cleaning effect by friction and comprising at least one first and one second external layer made of a fibrous material. The inventive article is characterised in that the first layer (10, 10?, 10?) forms an absorbing cushion and substantially consists of low-micronaire cellulose fibres, in particular less than 8, and the second layer (20, 20?, 20?) is substentially consists of high-micronaire fibres, in particular of micronaire higher than 8, said layers being selected from the following materials: flax, ramie, sisal, jute and hemp separate or mixed.

  • Publication number: 20060137155
Abstract: The invention relates to a process of hydroentangling a fibrous web (N) including of positioning the web on a porous moving support (10) in translatory movement or in rotation about an axis, and of treating at least one side of the web by means of a plurality of streams of water arranged in a row perpendicular to the direction of movement of the web, characterized in that the row includes streams with a first cross-section (14A) and at least streams with a second cross-section (24A) different from the first. The invention also relates to a process including treatment of the web by means of a plurality of streams of water arranged in at least two rows perpendicular to the direction of movement of the web. The rows include streams with a first cross-section (14, 16, 17, 18, 19) and at least streams with a second cross-section (24, 26, 27, 28, 29, 39) different from the first cross-section, at least one row including streams the spacing of which is not constant.

  • Patent number: 6887486
Abstract: The invention relates to a hydrophilic cotton pad for skin-care exhibiting a specific surface weight of at least 150 g/m2, and having two different outer sides of which the fibers are entangled. In the invention, the first outer side has hollow striae apart by a spacing s1 between 1 and 8 mm and having a depth d of at least 0.25 mm and wherein at least 50% of the fibers are entangled. The pad of the invention is used to apply skin-care products, such as cosmetics, to the skin.
