  • Patent number: 9250190
Abstract: A ninhydrin reagent for use in a method for analyzing nitrogen-containing compounds, in particular visualizing nitrogen-containing compounds by a color forming reaction, is provided. The ninhydrin reagent contains ninhydrin; an aqueous buffer; and a temperature-dependent reducing agent, which agent is inactive in the reduction of ninhydrin at a first temperature and active in reducing ninhydrin to hydrindantin at a second temperature, wherein the second temperature is higher than the first temperature. The reagent is particularly useful in the analysis of amino acids.

  • Patent number: 9250191
Abstract: A method for analyzing one or more nitrogen-containing compounds, in which the one or more nitrogen-containing compounds are contacted with hydrindantin at an elevated temperature in a contact zone is provided. In the method ninhydrin is contacted with one or more reducing agents in a heating zone at a first elevated temperature to produce a hydrindantin-containing mixture. The hydrindantin-containing mixture is introduced into the contact zone and contacted with the nitrogen-containing compounds at a second elevated temperature. The method is particularly suitable for the analysis by visualization of amino acids.

  • Patent number: 9118754
Abstract: This invention shows a method for operating a voice communications network that comprises dynamically associating a private number with at least one public number of a circuit-switched voice communication network, authenticating a user of a private number without reliance on a static reproducible data code, receiving an incoming call to the public number and routing the incoming call from a caller to the private number. The method also shows the generation of an outgoing call from the private number and passing the outgoing call through the public number while generating calling party information to a target which preserves the privacy of the caller, and altering an associating of the private number and at least one public number. The system therefore acts as a proxy with authentication by means of dynamic code security. The caller and the user of the private number share seamless round-trip telephone communications while preserving the anonymity of the user of the private number.

  • Patent number: 8035153
Abstract: A method for fabricating a memory device with a self-aligned trap layer which is optimized for scaling is disclosed. In the present invention, a non-conformal film is deposited over the charge trapping layer to form a thick film on top of the core source/drain region and a pinch off and a void or a narrow channel at the top of the STI trench. An etch is performed on the non-conformal film to open pinch-off or widen the narrow channel in the non-conformal. The trapping layer is then completely or partially etched between the core cells. The non-conformal film is removed. And a top oxide is formed. The top oxide converts the remaining trap layer to oxide if the trapping layer is partially etched and thus isolate the trap layer.

  • Publication number: 20100255452
Abstract: Training and rehabilitation systems and methods involving providing a training system having buttons arranged within a span of at least 36 inches, each of the buttons associated with a light configured to indicate its button to a user. A light is illuminated, thereby indicating to the user a designated button desired for depressing. The depression of one or more of the buttons by the user is determined. A relationship may be determined between the designated buttons and the depression of the buttons. A training regimen may be based on the determined relationship between the designated buttons and the depression of the buttons. The determined training regimen may be implemented using the training system.

  • Patent number: 7549640
Abstract: A board game of chance and skill using a game board, a pair of dice, and tokens. The player throwing the highest initial roll begins game play. Rolling one six or two sixes allows movement of one token or two tokens, respectively, from a home base space marked with a country name to a starting space marked “GATE” and along a clockwise path of movement to a finish space marked “PARADISE”. A token is returned to home base space if another player's token lands on the same game space. A blockade, which may not be passed by other players' tokens until such blockade is broken, is created when two tokens of one player are placed on the same game space. An exact roll is required to enter a finish space. The first player with all tokens in his finish space is the winner.

  • Publication number: 20090150920
Abstract: A networked system collects, aggregates, and distributes the collective wisdom of consumers. An aggregation module obtains, from each of a plurality of reviewing consumers: i) a file comprising a motion video clip depicting a video product review of a product; and ii) the reviewing consumer's indication of at least one categorization data element identifying the product. A motion video clip database stores each motion video clip. A search database stores, for each motion video clip, the at least one product categorization data element identifying the product depicted in the motion video clip. A search module receives a search term from a searching consumer and identifies a selected group of video product reviews. The selected group of video product reviews comprises those video product reviews that are a relevant video product review. A relevant video product review comprises a video product review that is associated with a product categorization data element corresponding to the search term.

  • Patent number: 7498222
Abstract: A high K layer, such as aluminum oxide or hafnium oxide, may be formed with a deposition process that uses an ion implantation to damage portions of the high K material that are to be later etched. More particularly, in one implementation, a semiconductor device is manufactured by forming a first dielectric over a substrate, forming a charge storage element over the first dielectric, forming a second dielectric above the charge storage element, implantation ions into select portions of the second dielectric, and etching the ion implanted select portions of the second dielectric.

  • Patent number: 7465644
Abstract: A structure for electrically isolating semiconductor devices includes a semiconducting layer and a layer of aluminum oxide formed in a pattern over the semiconducting layer, where the pattern exposes a portion of the semiconducting layer. The structure further includes an electrical isolation region formed in the exposed portion of the semiconducting layer, where the isolation region does not substantially encroach a region beneath the layer of aluminum oxide.

  • Publication number: 20070174635
Abstract: Systems, methods and media for verifying the existence of a licensed software installation at the time of an update to the software are disclosed. In one embodiment, a package of files for the update is encrypted with a copy of a key file that is contained in the original installation. The encrypted package of files is stored at a remote location that is accessible by way of a website. When a user seeks to download an update, the user must provide a copy of the key file used to encrypt the data. The user-provided key file is then used to decrypt the encrypted package.

  • Publication number: 20060230259
Abstract: An instruction memory unit comprises a first memory structure operable to store program instructions, and a second memory structure operable to store program instructions fetched from the first memory structure, and to issue stored program instructions for execution. The second memory structure is operable to identify a repeated issuance of a forward program redirect construct, and issue a next program instruction already stored in the second memory structure if a resolution of the forward branching instruction is identical to a last resolution of the same. The second memory structure is further operable to issue a backward program redirect construct, determine whether a target instruction is stored in the second memory structure, issue the target instruction if the target instruction is stored in the second memory structure, and fetch the target instruction from the first memory structure if the target instruction is not stored in the second memory structure.
