  • Publication number: 20120057665
Abstract: Using three tunable wavelengths on different cones of laser beams the energy transfer between beams can be tuned to redistribute the energy within the cones of beams most prone to backscatter instabilities. Using a third wavelength provides a greater level of control of the laser energy distribution and coupling in the hohlraum, to significantly reduce stimulated Raman scattering losses and increase the hohlraum radiation drive, yet maintain implosion symmetry.

  • Publication number: 20110284318
Abstract: The soundproofed exhaust duct for a turbine engine comprises a perforated inner shell defining a flow passage, and a solid outer shell, the inner and outer shells defining between them a space that is closed at the upstream and downstream ends of said space. A core extends between the inner and outer shells at a distance therefrom, and contains at least one sound energy dissipating layer made up of hollow beads that are held against one another. A frame with upstream and downstream portions connected together by longitudinal members supports the core and partitions it into a plurality of boxes that are filled with hollow beads that are held between perforated textures, the frame being secured to the outer shell and/or to the inner shell via at least one of its upstream and downstream portions.

  • Publication number: 20110119885
Abstract: The present invention provides a restored winding core and a method for manufacturing the same, wherein at least one discarded winding core is first collected. At least one of the extremities of the discarded winding core is internally ground on a predetermined grinding distance to remove the crimping portion and provide a ground portion thereon. The ground portion defines a female joint socket extending at the corresponding extremity of the discarded winding core for providing a machined core extremity. The method also comprises the step of providing at least one hollow insert tube diametrically snugly fitting into the female joint socket. The at least one insert tube is inserted inside the corresponding female joint socket for providing a restored core extremity. The present invention thus allows to restore the damaged extremities of a winding core which can then be reused as a new winding core of the same length.

  • Patent number: 7937758
Abstract: An origin of a file of interest on a computer system is determined by monitoring file origin events on the computer system. A file of interest resulting from one of the file origin events may then be selected for tracing. A precursor file from which the file of interest emanates as a result of one of the file origin events is then identified. By iteratively performing the identifying operation upon successive precursor files substituted in the identifying operation for the file of interest, an origin file with no further precursor file may thus be identified. It is thus possible to trace back a given process or file of interest to a file container and/or location that initially introduced it into the computer system and any intermediate files or forms the process or file of interest may have assumed.

  • Patent number: 7809972
Abstract: A data processing apparatus includes a first component for generating a signal operating in the first clock domain having a first clock period, and a second component for receiving the signal operating in the second clock domain having a second clock period. The second clock period is synchronous with but slower than the first clock period. Interface circuitry is provided for translating the signal between the first clock domain and the second clock domain, the interface circuitry operating in the first clock domain and comprising a storage element for temporarily buffering the signal generated by the first component before outputting that signal to the second component. Enable circuitry is used to control output of the signal from the storage element having regard to a specified input delay value identifying an input delay time of the second component expressed in terms of the first clock period.

  • Patent number: 7676652
Abstract: Within a system supporting execution of variable length instructions a program is stored within discrete memory regions with a variable length instruction spanning a gap between two such discrete memory regions. When execution is attempted of such a variable length instruction spanning a gap, an abort handler is initiated which serves to copy the end portion of one of the memory regions together with the start portion of the other memory region into a separate fix-up memory region where these may be concatenated such that the whole of the variable length instruction will appear in one place. Execution of that variable length instruction from out of the fix-up memory region can then be triggered.

  • Patent number: 7642725
Abstract: The present disclosure describes systems and methods for driving light emitting diodes (LEDs). At least some embodiments include an LED driver system that includes a power supply, a plurality of current sources (each current source coupled between a common return resistor and one of a plurality of branches of series coupled LEDs, and each branch coupled between a corresponding current source and the power supply), and control logic coupled to the current sources (the control logic capable of controlling the current flow through each current source). Each of the current sources allows current to flow during one of a plurality of substantially non-overlapping time periods within a repeating time interval, each current source allowing current to flow during a different time period. The magnitude of the current flowing through each current source is substantially the same and is regulated based upon a feedback voltage across the common return resistor.
