  • Publication number: 20030071085
Abstract: A dispensing head for dispensing a product from a receptacle associated with an actuatable dispensing element. The dispensing head comprises a first element defining a channel passing through the first element, and a second element. The first element may be configured to be coupled to the actuatable dispensing element. The first element may further define at least one inner outlet orifice. The channel may be configured to pass product from the actuatable dispensing element to the at least one inner outlet orifice. The second element may define at least one dispensing orifice. The second element may be configured to be displaced relative to the first element from a first position, where actuation of the actuatable dispensing element is prevented and the dispensing orifice is closed by the first element, to a second position, where actuation of the actuatable dispensing element is allowed and the at least one dispensing orifice is at least partly open and communicates with the at least one inner outlet orifice.

  • Publication number: 20020117516
Abstract: A dispenser unit comprises a housing and an actuator movable relative to the housing to cause the contents of two containers to be dispensed simultaneously in mixed or separate state. Each container includes a hollow stem through which the substance is dispensed when the stem is depressed. The dispenser unit includes a fluid-conducting member distinct from the actuator and including two hoods for engaging the two stems of the containers. Depressing the actuator causes the fluid-conducting member to actuate the stems and initiate dispensing of the contents into a single passage or two separate passages of the fluid-conducting member. The fluid-conducting member is movable within the housing for accommodating mismatch in heights of the stems. The actuator includes a single internal channel or two separate channels for receiving the container contents from the fluid-conducting member.

  • Patent number: 6439440
Abstract: A dispensing head for dispensing a product from a receptacle associated with an actuatable dispensing element. The dispensing head comprises a mounting element configured to be fixed to the receptacle, and at least one dispensing orifice. The dispensing head further may comprise a dispensing nozzle forming a channel configured to pass product to the at least one dispensing orifice. The nozzle may be configured to be rotatably fixed relative to the mounting element and also be configured to be displaced so as to cause actuation of the dispensing element. The dispensing head may also comprise a cap configured to be screwed onto the dispensing nozzle. The cap may be configured to prevent the actuation of the dispensing element when the cap is in a screwed-on position on the dispensing nozzle.

  • Patent number: 6296156
Abstract: A mounting device for mounting a valve on a container and a dispenser containing a product under pressure fitted with such a mounting device are both provided. The mounting device includes: a first fastening device configured to fasten the mounting device to an open edge of the container; a second fastening device configured to fasten the dispensing valve on the mounting device; a first groove formed between the first and second fastening devices; and a locking device intended to be positioned in the first groove so as to allow the first fastening device to be clamped onto the open edge, wherein the action of clamping is a result of radial enlargement of a bottom of the first groove.

  • Patent number: 6264067
Abstract: An actuation device is provided for actuating a dispensing member and for dispensing a product contained with the dispensing member. The actuation device includes an inlet orifice, a dispensing orifice, a passage, a suction orifice and a vacuum mechanism. The inlet orifice is placed in flow communication with the dispensing member. The passage extends from the inlet orifice to the dispensing orifice. The suction orifice, which is distinct from the inlet orifice, flow communicates with the passage. The vacuum mechanism includes a variable-volume chamber having a collecting region and a chamber orifice. The variable-volume chamber is entirely contained within the actuation device. The chamber orifice is in flow communication with the suction orifice. At least a portion of the collecting region is below the level of the chamber orifice.

  • Patent number: 6230762
Abstract: The present invention relates to a dispenser for storing a product, particularly a cosmetic product, and dispensing the product. The dispenser includes a container containing the product and having a free edge which delimits an opening in which is mounted a dispensing member. The dispensing member may be, for example, a manually actuated pump or a valve. A piston is mounted so as to move axially inside the container and to separate in leakproof fashion a first volume, adjacent to the dispensing member and containing the product, from a second volume adjacent to the first, the piston being formed by molding directly inside the container.

  • Patent number: 6202899
Abstract: A head (4) for dispensing a product under pressure includes a dispensing element (20) intended to be mounted on a pump or a valve (30) surmounting a product reservoir (2) and defining an outlet duct (34) for the product, opening to a dispensing orifice (22). A rigid or semi-rigid actuator (16) is capable of coming into engagement with the dispenser. A shut-off device (18) is integral with the actuator (16) and is capable, in response to a pressure exerted on the actuator, of moving from a first position in which it seals off the orifice (22) to a second position in which the orifice (22) is uncovered so as to allow the product to exit under pressure. The shut-off device (18) is formed of a material that is elastically deformable so that it can return to the first position by elastic return when the actuating pressure ceases.

  • Patent number: 6131776
Abstract: An assembly for packaging and pressurized dispensing of a product, particularly a cosmetic, including a first container which is surmounted by a first valve capable of moving from a closed position to an open position for dispensing the product, and which defines two compartments which are separated in a leaktight manner by a movable piston. The first compartment contains the product and the second compartment receives a propellent gas capable of pressurizing the product via the movable piston. When the valve is in a closed position, the second compartment is substantially at atmospheric pressure.

  • Patent number: 6123237
Abstract: A valve (1) for dispensing a fluid under pressure has a valve body (2) made of elastomeric material. It has an inlet passage (5) and an outlet passage (10), shut-off device (100, 19) for, in response to an actuation command, placing the inlet passage (5) in communication with the outlet passage (10), and elastic return device (20) for, in the absence of actuation command, urging the shut-off device (100, 19) into the closed position. The valve (1) has a rigid element arranged inside the inlet passage (5), a portion (109) of which emerges from the valve body (2) by a significant amount, and a part (104) forming a seal between the rigid element and the inlet passage (5).

  • Patent number: 5975356
Abstract: A pressurized container (1) containing a fluid product to be dispensed and a propellant gas. The container includes a valve for dispensing the product that includes a heat-sensitive safety device (D) for opening the valve and causing the inside of the container to permanently communicate with the atmosphere when the temperature inside the container exceeds a predetermined threshold temperature. The safety device (D) includes a stopper (106) made of a material that is thermodeformable at the threshold temperature. The stopper closes an orifice (105) in an actuating stem of the valve when the threshold temperature is not exceeded, and opens the orifice when the threshold temperature is exceeded.

  • Patent number: 5967382
Abstract: A dispensing valve includes a body with an axis defining an internal chamber communicating with a pressurized liquid. The body has an intake duct and an outlet duct. The valve also includes an actuating stem traversed by a dispensing duct open at its two ends, the stem being mounted in a leakproof manner in the outlet duct, one of its ends having at least one feeder passage and the other end opening outside the body. The feeder passage is selectively communicated with the internal chamber by lateral pivoting of the stem so as to allow the liquid to be dispensed via the dispensing duct. The valve body is made of an elastomeric material, and the stem has, inside the outlet duct, a profile capable of cooperating with a complementary profile of the outlet duct to define an articulation substantially around a point so that, irrespective of the angular position of the stem relative to the axis, the stem is in a leakproof annular contact with the outlet duct.
