  • Patent number: 7588644
Abstract: A method of cleaning pipeline pigs of a material that is to be recycled includes providing a vessel having an interior. A manifold is placed within the vessel interior, the manifold having a plurality of openings. The vessel is filled with a solvent that is capable of dissolving the material to be recycled. The pipeline pig is placed in the vessel and above the manifold. A volume of gas is bubbled into the vessel via the manifold openings. These steps are repeated with multiple pigs in sequence so that the material to be recycled is concentrated over time within the vessel. Thereafter, the material that has accumulated within the vessel is recycled. The solvent is preferably a terpene blend with an ethoxylated alcohol. The material to be recycled is preferably paraffin and/or asphaltene.

  • Publication number: 20080314009
Abstract: A fiber bed mist eliminator has a fiber bed which is formed of a composite fiber bed collecting media strip including a collection layer which is not subjected to needle punching. The fiber bed can be made very thin while retaining high efficiency in removing small particles of aerosol from a gas stream passing through the fiber bed. The fiber bed collecting media strip lends itself to be applied to the mist eliminator by spirally wrapping the element onto the mist eliminator. The fiber bed collecting media strip can overlap itself to seal at the locations where the fiber element overlaps itself. The fiber bed collecting media strip can be provided to the field in different formats for use in making a mist eliminator fiber bed.

  • Patent number: 7125950
Abstract: A solvent-free process for making a polyol fatty acid polyester composition useful for preparation of polyurethanes is described. These compositions are preferably made by reaction of a natural oil (from plant or animal) with a multi-functional hydroxyl compound derived from a natural source, such as sorbitol, in presence of an alkali metal salt or base such as potassium hydroxide as a catalyst which also acts to saponify the reaction mixture. The hydroxyl content of the prepared composition depends on the amount of the multi-functional hydroxyl compound used in the preparation. In another embodiment, the hydroxyl groups of these compositions are reacted with an isocyanate, such as the polymeric diphenylmethane diisocyanate (also known as 4,4?-diphenyl methane diisocyanate, or MDI) to form polyurethanes in a conventional manner.

  • Patent number: 6958979
Abstract: Planning alternative SS7 networks is a complex task requiring assistance from an intelligent planning tool. The tool includes at least one planning database containing information on network traffic, component locations, and component connectivity. A load module determines peak load for each STP in the core network. A forecast module determines equipment capacity exhaustion for each STP, network database, and core link during each study period and determines network costs based on peak loads and an alternative network design provided by a user. A graphical user interface guides the user through a sequence of design steps, each step having to be correctly completed before the next step in the sequence is started. The sequence of steps may include permitting changes to the core network, permitting changes to the number of POPs and DBs, rehoming elements left disconnected from STPs, assigning SSPs to POPs, assigning SSPs to DBs, and permitting voluntary rehomes.
