  • Publication number: 20020189972
Abstract: The invention concerns an improved method for making very high quality oil bases optionally with simultaneous production of high quality middle distillates, comprising hydrotreating, hydrocracking preferably on Y or beta zeolite, topping steps. The effluent is subjected to catalytic dewaxing on ZSM-48 zeolite. The method then comprises steps of hydrofinishing to hydrogenate the aromatics, preferably on a catalyst comprising at least a noble metal of group VIII, chlorine and fluorine and steps of vacuum topping. The properties of the oils and middle distillates are enhanced (flow point, viscosity index, aromatic content) resulting even in production of medicinal oils.

  • Patent number: 6350370
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for improving the pour point of a feed including paraffins containing more than 10 carbon atoms. Desirably, the feed to be treated is brought into contact with a catalyst based on NU-85 zeolite, at least partially in its acid form, and at least one hydro-dehydrogenating element, at a temperature which is in the range 170° C. to 500° C., a pressure in the range 1 to 250 bar and at an hourly space velocity in the range 0.05 to 100 h−1, in the presence of hydrogen in a proportion of 50 to 2000 l/l of feed.

C. to 500.degree. C., a pressure in the range 1 to 250 bar and an hourly space velocity in the range 0.05 to 100 h.sup.-1, in the presence of hydrogen in a proportion of 50 to 2000 l/l of feed. The oils obtained have good pour points and high viscosity indices (VI). The process is also applicable to gas oils and other feeds requiring a reduction of pour point. The invention also concerns a NU-85 zeolite from which a portion of elements T (Al, Ga, Fe or B) have been removed and which has an Si/T atomic ratio of at least 18.

  • Patent number: 6153087
Abstract: A process for converting a hydrocarbon fraction comprises a step a) for treating a hydrocarbon feed in the presence of hydrogen in at least one three-phase reactor, containing at least one hydrotreatment catalyst in an ebullating bed, operating in riser mode of liquid and of gas, the reactor comprising at least one means located close to the bottom of the reactor for extracting catalyst from the reactor and at least one means located close to the top of the reactor for adding fresh catalyst to the reactor, a step b) for treating at least a portion of the effluent from step a) in the presence of hydrogen in at least one reactor containing at least one hydrocracking catalyst in a fixed bed under conditions for producing an effluent with a reduced sulphur content, and a step c) in which at least a portion of the product from step b) is sent to a distillation zone from which a gaseous fraction, a gasoline type engine fuel fraction, a diesel type engine fuel fraction and a liquid fraction which is heavier than the

  • Patent number: 6036846
Abstract: The invention concerns a process for improving the pour point of a feed comprising paraffins containing more than 10 carbon atoms, in which process the feed to be treated is brought into contact with a catalyst comprising an NU-87 zeolite comprising silicon and at least one clement T selected from the group formed by Al, Fe, Ga and B, from which at least a portion of clement T has been removed, and having a global Si/T ratio of over 20, the catalyst also containing at least one hydro-dehydrogenating element. The process is carried out at a temperature which is in the range 170.degree. C. to 500.degree. C., a pressure in the range 1 to 250 bar and at an hourly space velocity in the range 0.05 to 100 h.sup.-1, in the presence of hydrogen in a proportion of 50 to 2000 l/l of feed. The oils obtained have good pour points and high viscosity indices (VI). The process is also applicable to gas oils and other feeds requiring a reduction of pour point. The catalyst is also claimed.

  • Patent number: 5989410
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for improving the pour point of a feedstock that comprises paraffins of more than 10 carbon atoms, in which the feedstock that is to be treated is brought into contact with a catalyst that comprises the IM-5 zeolite and at least one hydro-dehydrogenating element, at a temperature of between 170 and 500.degree. C., a pressure of between 1 and 250 bar, and an hourly volume velocity of between 0.05 and 100 h.sup.-1, in the presence of hydrogen at a ratio of 50 to 2000 l/l of feedstock. The oils that are obtained have good pour points and high viscosity indices (VI). The process can also be applied to gas-oils and other feedstocks whose pour points need to be lowered.
