    Abstract: A key device for a computer keyboard has a rigid printed circuit board, a flexible printed circuit board, and a key structure. The rigid printed circuit board has two adjacent but unconnected conductive ends electrically connected to two wires respectively. The flexible printed circuit board, fixed over the rigid printed circuit board, has a conductive segment installed above the two conductive ends, and an isolation layer installed around the conductive segment to form a gap between the conductive segment and the two conductive ends. The key structure is moveably fixed on the flexible printed circuit board in an up and down manner. When the key structure is pushed downward, the bottom of the key structure will touch the conductive segment of the flexible printed circuit board, and the conductive segment will touch the two conductive ends of the rigid printed circuit board to electrically connect the two conductive ends and the two wires.

The bus structure includes at least one second air conduit.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a pointing stick device for use with a computer. The pointing stick device has a base plate having an aperture, a stick having a lower portion, at least one strain gauge attached on the lower portion, and a binding compound filling the space between the lower portion of the stick and the aperture of the base plate. The lower portion of the stick is tapered. The binding compound covers the strain gauges and fixes the lower portion of the stick vertically in the aperture of the base plate. When the stick is vertically depressed, the strain gauge installed on the lower portion of the stick senses the vertical downward pressure from reaction forces transmitted through the binding compound and generates the corresponding sensing signals.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a pointing stick device. The pointing stick device comprises a base plate, a stick, a cap and a base stand. The bottom end of the stick is vertically mounted in a hole in the base plate, and a plurality of strain gauges are installed around the middle portion of the stick to sense pressure and generate corresponding sensing signals. The cap has a cone-shaped mouth to contain the top end of the stick and the middle portion of the stick. The base stand, of a cone shape to match the mouth of the cap, covers the middle portion of the stick. A plurality of strain gauges extend into the middle portion of the stick and are covered by the base stand so that the top ends of the strain gauges sense the pressure coming form cap, improving the sensitivity of the pointing stick device.

    Abstract: The objective of the invention is to provide a compact and complex electronic component incorporating a rotary encoder capable of exact adjustment and a push switch with a long life-cycle. In order to achieve the objective, the push switch is fixed on a rear wall or a lower surface of the electronic component such that an essential of the push switch, i.e., a dome-shaped member, can be made larger and has longer fatigue life. Moreover, the rotary encoder includes a rotatable member and a resilient member. The rotatable member has a gear-shaped flange and is rotatable circumferentially relative to a central shaft of the rotary encoder. When the rotary encoder rotates, the resilient member, relative to the central shaft, is stationary. The resilient member has a V-shaped portion retained by a surface of the gear-shaped flange of the rotatable member such that the rotary encoder can be exact adjusted.

    Abstract: The switch actuator provided comprises a rubber dome, a housing, a keytop and a plunger. The rubber dome is seated on the switch and is selectively deformed to actuate the switch. The housing receives the rubber dome therein and has an upper opening defining an edge of the opening and has an inner surface. The plunger moves reciprocally within the housing and is guided by the edge during the reciprocal movement of the keytop. The keytop, which has a bottom surface, moves reciprocally and vertically together with the plunger to selectively deform the rubber dome to actuate the switch as the result of the operation of the user. The invention is characterized in that a slant surface is formed on the inner surface of the housing to retain the bifurcated hook end of the plunger to reduce the noise generated during movement of the plunger.

The signal transmission flat cable is characterized in that the plurality of finger arrays are provided in the third layer at a plurality of predetermined locations along the flat cable and each of the plurality of finger arrays is spaced from each other by a given distance. A glue material is provided to bond the fourth layer and the second layer along the given distance.
