  • Patent number: 7612835
Abstract: A bistable chiral tilted-homeotropic nematic liquid crystal (BCTHN) display can be switched between the tilted-homeotropic state (TH state) and the twisted state (T state) by using dual frequency liquid crystal material. These two states can be maintained without the application of any electric field. The bistable liquid crystal display does not need high voltage to induce the flow of liquid crystal or break the anchoring energy.

  • Patent number: 7318365
Abstract: A multistage socket including a main body having a disc section. Multiple fixing blocks are disposed on one face of the disc section at equal angular intervals. A movable block is arranged between each two adjacent fixing blocks. The inner end faces of the movable blocks facing the center of the disc section define a polygonal hole. The movable blocks are resiliently movable toward or away from the center of the disc section. A rotary member is rotatably fitted around the disc section of the main body. Multiple arced guide sections are symmetrically formed on an inner face of the rotary member corresponding to the movable blocks. Each arced guide section has multiple recessed arced faces with different thickness. When rotating the rotary member, the outer ends of the movable blocks can abut against the opposite recessed arced faces of the arced guide sections with the same thickness.

  • Publication number: 20070291205
Abstract: A transflective liquid crystal display is provided. The electric fields of reflective regions are adjusted by arranging resistors between transmissive electrodes and reflectors or by disposing reflectors floating on the transmissive electrodes and ground electrodes so that the phase shift of liquid crystal layer in the reflective region and transmissive region can be controlled. Accordingly, the transmissive area and reflective area can be kept substantially identical in thickness and the complex process for manufacturing double gap structure is thus not required.

  • Patent number: 7137321
Abstract: An adjustable wrench including a fixed jaw, a movable jaw, a handle, a shaft member and a stopper pin. The front end of the handle is pivotally connected with the fixed jaw. When the handle is reciprocally pivotally swung, the stopper pin is driven by the handle to reciprocally move toward the stopper section or away from a stopper section of the shaft member. Also, by means of the spring fitted on the shaft member disposed in the main passage of the fixed jaw, after the movable jaw is slightly opened, the movable jaw will be immediately restored to hold the bolt or nut. Therefore, the bolt or nut can be continuously wrenched at one time without troublesome operation. The adjustable wrench has fewer components which are easier to process and assemble.

  • Patent number: 7077035
Abstract: A ratchet open-end wrench has a handle with a head portion at an end thereof. The head portion has two jaw, between which is a gap to receive a bolt therein. The jaw has a recess, wherein a space formed from the gap and the recess allows the bolt for free rotation. The jaw is provided with a stepped bore, in which a holding assembly is received, and a hole, in which a restriction assembly is received. The bolt is held by the jaw and a shaft of the holding assembly to be rotated. While the handle is turned with the reacting force of the bolt aligned with a radial direction, the bolt is rotated by the shaft and the jaw. While the handle is turned to a reverse direction, the reacting force of the bolt move the shaft inwards to keep the bolt still.

  • Patent number: 7047843
Abstract: A tool coupling device including a seat body, a ratchet locating mechanism and a transmission member disposed in the seat body. The ratchet locating mechanism has a controlling disc and a working stem projecting from the controlling disc. One end of the working stem has a first stopper block. A second stopper block is connected with the working stem next to the first stopper block. A pair of radially symmetric controlling keys are connected with the working stem next to the second stopper block. The controlling keys serve to drive two chucking pins disposed in the transmission member to move up and down so as to achieve ratchet effect. Therefore, the rotational direction of the tool can be changed.

  • Patent number: 6568301
Abstract: An adjustable wrench including a main body, a slide block, a movable jaw and a handle. The main body is formed with a hollow section in which the slide block is transversely slidably disposed. An adjustment bolt is pivotally disposed on the slide block and engaged with the movable jaw. One side of the slide block adjacent to the handle is formed with a dented section. The handle has at least one stop member corresponding to the dented section for abutting against the slide block. When the handle is wrenched, the stop member abuts against and locate the slide block so as to fix the movable jaw. At this time, the fixed jaw and movable jaw can clamp and wrench a work piece. When the handle is wrenched in reverse direction, the stop member is disengage from the slide block, whereby the slide block and the movable jaw are pushed open by the work piece and idle. Accordingly, the adjustable wrench can one-way wrench the work piece.

  • Patent number: 6523439
Abstract: A ratchet structure of a screwdriver, including a seat body disposed on a handle of the screwdriver, a ratchet mechanism and a cap member. The seat body is formed with a central cavity through which a stem of the ratchet mechanism is fitted. Two sides of the cavity are formed with left and a right chambers which symmetrically extend for receiving therein a left and a right dogs of the ratchet mechanism. The seat body is formed with two projecting sections respectively corresponding to the left and right dogs for supporting the same. The cap member is formed with a projecting block corresponding to the left and right dogs. When turning the cap member, the projecting block pushes and deflects the left dog or the right dog to disengage from a toothed section of the stem so as to control the rotational direction of the stem driven by the seat body.

  • Patent number: 6345555
Abstract: A reversible adjustable wrench having a main body on which a slidable first jaw and a pivotally rotatable second jaw are disposed. In normal state, a leaning section of the second jaw is leant against a stop block to prevent the second jaw from being pivotally rotated. By means of rotating a spiral rod, the gap between the first and second jaws can be adjusted to snugly clamp different sizes of nuts or bolts. After moving the stop block, the second jaw has a space for pivotal rotation, permitting the wrench to be reversely wrenched.
