  • Publication number: 20100146104
Abstract: A system for detecting a remote apparatus includes a host and a remote interface device connected to the host via a network. The remote interface device includes at least one serial port configured for connecting to a serial port apparatus. The remote interface device detects the connection status of the serial port using a filter rule provided by the host. When the connection status is changed, the remote interface device sends an event notification to the host. The host adds or removes virtual port objects, which are used by application software and are configured to control the remote apparatus, according to the received event notification. Using the mechanism described above, the host can have remote plug and play feature on a remote serial port apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7654699
Abstract: An LED lamp for lighting purpose includes a lamp base, a heat sink, a plurality of LED modules and a blower. The lamp base encloses an inner space and defines a plurality of vents therein. The vents communicate the inner space with a surrounding atmosphere. The heat sink comprises a cylinder at a center thereof. The cylinder has a through hole therein, which communicates with the inner space and vents of the lamp base and cooperates therewith to form an air passage. The LED modules are attached to a periphery of the heat sink. The blower generates an airflow circulating through the air passage to thereby dissipate heat generated by the LED modules.

  • Publication number: 20100014287
Abstract: An exemplary illuminating device includes a circuit board, a plurality of light sources, a thermal interface material, and a plurality of stretched resilient elements. The circuit board has a first surface and a second surface at an opposite side of the circuit board to the first surface. The plurality of light sources is electrically mounted on the first surface of the circuit board. The heat dissipating device is attached on the second surface of the circuit board. The thermal interface material is applied between the second surface of the circuit board and the heat dissipating device. The plurality of resilient elements are configured for connecting the circuit board with the heat dissipating device and providing a pulling force therebetween.

  • Publication number: 20090132737
Abstract: A remote interface apparatus comprises a network interface, a peripheral device interface, an interface-providing mechanism and a network address setting mechanism. The network interface is configured to communicate with a remote host. The peripheral device interface is configured to connect to a peripheral device. The interface-providing mechanism cooperates with the network interface to transfer the peripheral device interface into a remote peripheral device connection port of the host. The network address setting mechanism is configured to automatically obtain a network address upon a connection to the network, and to broadcast information of the peripheral device interface.

  • Publication number: 20090109667
Abstract: An optical lens (10) includes an array of lens units (11). Each lens unit includes a main body (101), a light diverging portion (112) and a light converging portion (114). The main body includes a light incident surface (110) and a light emitting surface (112) opposite to the light incident surface. The light diverging portion is used to expand a light field along an x-direction. The light converging portion is used to compress a light field along a y-direction. In specific embodiments, the light diverging portion and the light converging portion are respectively formed on the light incident surface and the light emitting surface.
