  • Publication number: 20210263821
Abstract: A method and apparatus for dynamically determining when, or how often, to do a read scan operation on a solid-state storage drive. One solution adjusts a read scan interval as part of performing a read scan operation. First, a bit error rate is determined for one of a plurality of storage blocks of a non-volatile memory array. Then, a cross temperature metric for the storage block is determined. A read scan interval is changed in response to the cross temperature metric satisfying a cross temperature threshold. Then, data in the storage block is relocated to a free storage block in response to the bit error rate satisfying a relocation threshold.

  • Patent number: 11100127
Abstract: This disclosure relates to methods, non-transitory computer readable media, and systems that generate and render a varied-scale-topological construct for a multidimensional dataset to visually represent portions of the multidimensional dataset at different topological scales. In certain implementations, for example, the disclosed systems generate and combine (i) an initial topological construct for a multidimensional dataset at one scale and (ii) a local topological construct for a subset of the multidimensional dataset at another scale to form a varied-scale-topological construct. To identify a region from an initial topological construct to vary in scale, the disclosed systems can determine the relative densities of subsets of multidimensional data corresponding to regions of the initial topological construct and select one or more such regions to change in scale.

  • Patent number: 11090100
Abstract: A catheter has a cooling distal section for freezing tissue to sub-zero temperatures with one or more miniature reverse thermoelectric or Peltier elements, also referred to herein as micro-Peltier cooling (MPC) units or electrodes. The MPC units may be on outer surface of an inflatable or balloon member or a tip electrode shell wall that has a fluid-containing interior cavity acting as a heat sink. Each MPC unit has a hot junction and a cold junction whose temperatures are regulated by the heat sink, and a voltage/current applied to the MPC units. A temperature differential of about 70 degrees Celsius may be achieved between the hot and cold junctions for extreme cooling, especially where the MPC units include semiconductor materials with high Peltier co-efficients. An outer coating of thermally-conductive but electrically-insulative material seals the MPC units to prevent unintended current paths through the MPC units.

  • Patent number: 11087078
Abstract: There are many administrative processes which require a user to enter handwritten data on ordinary paper forms. This data is then further processed and converted in the digitized form. In the existing methods, the turnaround time for whole process is high, lacks accuracy of the digitized data, and cost is also on the higher side. A system and method for real time digitization of hand written input data has been provided. The system comprises an input device that utilizes a pen and paper input form which is filled by a user in his hand writing. The completed form data is then transferred to a form inspector application that runs on the aggregation device. It allows for applications to be verified for completeness and send the same for real-time digitization using a form processor application. A recognition engine is then used for the digitization of the hand written input data.

  • Publication number: 20210240358
Abstract: A storage system and method for boundary wordline data retention handling are provided. In one embodiment, the storage system includes a memory having a single-level cell (SLC) block and a multi-level cell (MLC) block. The system determines if the boundary wordline in the MLC block has a data retention problem (e.g., by determining how long it has been since the boundary wordline was programmed). To address the data retention problem, the storage system can copy data from a wordline in the SLC block that corresponds to the boundary wordline in the MLC block to a wordline in another SLC block prior to de-committing the data in the SLC block. Alternatively, the storage system can reprogram the data in the boundary wordline using a double fine programing technique.
