  • Publication number: 20230336981
Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to reordering and replay detection. A device may differentiate between MAC Protocol Data Units (MPDUs) associated with old and new Pairwise Transient Key Security Associations (PTKSAs) using either an Extended Key ID mechanism or decoding with an old or a new key. The device may maintain separate replay counters for each PTKSA to enable accurate replay detection by selecting an appropriate replay counter based on the differentiation of the MPDUs. The device may compare Packet Numbers (PNs) of received frames with values of their corresponding replay counters. The device may discard any MPDUs with PNs less than or equal to a value of the corresponding replay counter associated with a respective old or new PTKSA.

  • Patent number: 11792842
Abstract: An extremely high throughput (EHT) station (STA) configured for trigger based (TB) transmission may decode an trigger frame (TF) received from an access point (AP). The TF may include an assignment of resources comprising one or more 20 MHz channels. The EHT STA may determine which of the one or more assigned channels are available for transmission and which of the allocated channels are unavailable when the EHT STA is assigned more than one 20 MHz channel. The EHT STA may encode a EHT TB PPDU in response to the trigger frame. The EHT TB PPDU may be encoded to include an EHT preamble followed by a data field. The EHT preamble may be encoded to indicate channel availability. The EHT STA may generate signaling to cause the EHT STA to transmit the encoded EHT TB PPDU only on the assigned channels that have been determined to be available.

  • Publication number: 20230300818
Abstract: An access point station (AP) generates a trigger frame (TF) for transmission to two or more non-AP stations (STAs) or groups of STAs. The trigger frame may allocate resource units (RUs) for a trigger-based (TB) transmission to the two or more STAs. The AP may encode the trigger frame to include a Common Info field followed by one or more Special User Info fields. The Common Info field and the one or more Special User Info fields and may be encoded to solicit (i.e., trigger) a trigger-based (TB) Frequency Aggregated Physical layer Protocol Data Unit (PPDU) (FA-PPDU) that includes more than one PPDU of at least two different physical layer (PHY) types from the two or more STAs or groups of STAs. The different PHY types may include high-efficiency (HE), Extremely High Throughput (EHT), Ultra-High Rate (UHR), and UHR+. Accordingly, an AP can trigger a FA-PPDU that includes TB PPDUs of different PHY types.

  • Publication number: 20230300696
Abstract: An access-point station (AP) configured for communicating multi-user (MU) physical layer protocol data units (PPDUs) (MU-PPDUs) with plurality of non-AP stations (STAs) using dynamic channel switching may acquire a transmission opportunity (TXOP) on a channel comprising a primary channel and one or more non-primary channels. The AP may encode a channel switching indication frame that may request that at least some of the STAs temporarily switch from operating on the primary channel to operating on one of the non-primary channels. The AP may decode a response frame from each of the STAs that are indicated to switch. Each response frame may be received on the non-primary channel that an indicated STA is requested to switch to.

  • Patent number: 11764845
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer readable media for channel state information for multiple access points are disclosed. Channel station information (CSI) may be coordinated for multiple access points (APs) where one AP may act as a master AP with other AP acting as slave APs. The channel station information may be based on information from null data packets received by stations from multiple-APs, which may enable a multi-AP coordinated beamforming (CBF) to be determined based on the received first CSI reports. New frame formats are disclosed that include fields for including APs. Overlapping basic service set (OBSS) stations may respond to APs that are not within their BSS. Some embodiments relate to passive range finding in a multi-AP sounding where location configuration information (LCI) changes for one of the APs.

  • Publication number: 20230292350
Abstract: Embodiments of an Extremely High Throughput Station (EHT STA) (STA1) configured for operating in a next-generation (NG) wireless local area network (WLAN) are described herein. In some embodiments, the EHT STA encodes a common signal field (SIG) (Coex-SIG) of an EHT PPDU to include a TXOP duration field. The TXOP duration field is more than seven bits to indicate an actual TXOP duration of a transmission from the EHT STA comprising the EHT PPDU transmitted to a second station (STA2). Decoding the TXOP duration field of the EHT PPDU by a third-party station (STA4) causes the third-party station (STA4) to defer a transmission until after an end of the transmission from the second station (STA2).
