  • Patent number: 11197242
Abstract: In one embodiment, a first wireless access point (AP) of a first basic service set (BSS) receives, from a second wireless AP of a second BSS, data indicative of an 802.11-based target wake time (TWT) schedule of a client of the second BSS. The first wireless AP identifies, from the receive data, a scheduled communication time of the client of the second BSS in the TWT schedule. The first wireless AP generates an 802.11-based TWT schedule for a client of the first BSS that avoids the scheduled communication time of the client of the second BSS. The first wireless AP sends the generated 802.11-based TWT schedule to the client of the first BSS, wherein the sent TWT schedule causes the client of the first BSS to wake from sleep at a scheduled wake time.

  • Patent number: 11197272
Abstract: In dense Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) deployments, Access Points (APs) in other Extended Service Sets (ESSs) can be hidden (a first AP does not receive signals from a third AP). However, these APs in other ESSs can still interfere with communications between the third AP and the devices communicating with the first AP. To improve service to that device in that situation, the first AP needs information about the third AP in the first AP's decision making processes. In these situations, a second AP, in contact with the third AP, can share information about the third AP with the first AP so that the first AP can avoid colliding with the third AP.

  • Publication number: 20210364597
Abstract: Embodiments for securing fine timing measurement (FTM) communications are described. FTM communications include FTM frames sent and received from an initiating station (ISTA) and a responding station (RSTA). The RSTA records a plurality of parameters associated with the FTM frames and uses the plurality of parameters to learn and identify a device profile for the ISTA. The device profile is used to determine a behavior filter for the FTM from the ISTA and the RSTA filters FTM traffic according to the behavior filter to prevent malicious attacks in the FTM communications.

  • Patent number: 11172484
Abstract: Bypassing radar in wide Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) channels utilizing puncturing may be provided. A first client device may be classified as eligible for puncturing and a second client device may be classified as not eligible for puncturing. Next, it may be determined that a subchannel in a bandwidth range should not be used. Then, in response to determining that the subchannel in the bandwidth range should not be used, the first client device may be steered to a first subset of the bandwidth range and the second client device may be steered to a second subset of the bandwidth range. The second subset of the bandwidth range may be smaller than the first subset of the bandwidth range.

  • Patent number: 11153761
Abstract: Spectrum management may be provided. A first Radio Frequency (RF) event metric may be received from a first service end point. The first RF event metric may comprise a time a first event occurred. A second RF event metric may be received from a second service end point. The second RF event metric may comprise a time a second event occurred. Then it may be determined that the time the first event occurred and the time the second event occurred are substantially congruent. Next, in response to determining that the time the first event occurred and the time the second event occurred are substantially congruent, the first service end point and the second service end point may be grouped in a first RF group thereby allowing frequency re-use across similar RF groups. Then different channels may be assigned to the first service end point and the second service end point.

  • Patent number: 11153760
Abstract: In one illustrative example, a device configured for use in a wireless local area network (WLAN) may cause a spatial reuse (SR) adjustment to be performed based on data received from a multi-user receiver procedure for the blind detection and demodulation of colliding packets from multiple stations. This procedure may be performed by one or more access points (APs) and/or distributed sensor nodes, each having such a multi-user receiver. The procedure may involve receiving and decoding, over a channel, a first spatial stream from a first device of a first base service set (BSS) color; simultaneously receiving and decoding, over the channel, a second spatial stream from a second device of a second BSS color (i.e. an overlapping BSS or “OBSS”); and calculating a signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) based on signal levels associated with the streams. The SR adjustment may involve adjusting an OBSS Packet Detect (PD) (OBSS-PD) threshold.

  • Publication number: 20210321473
Abstract: A method is performed at a first multilink device configured to communicate wirelessly with a first radio and a second radio of a second multilink device. The method includes accessing a set of parameters for a known mathematical model that establishes a frequency separation to be imposed between transmission from the first radio and reception at the second radio in order to achieve a predetermined reception performance at the second radio when the transmission and the reception are simultaneous. The method further includes, using the known mathematical model, computing the frequency separation based on the set of parameters.
