  • Publication number: 20200287938
Abstract: A computing system performs adaptive clustering of machines (e.g., computing devices) and/or machine users in an organization for attack surface reduction (ASR) responsively to event feedback including system-based exclusion events and user-based requests for exclusion. The cluster adaptation may be applied to conventional vector-quantization clustering algorithms, for example K-Means, expectation-maximization (EM) clustering, or affinity clustering, to provide adaptable clusters of machines or users. The adaptation enables aggregation or disaggregation of endpoints into clusters to minimize negative business impacts on the organization while maximizing security in view of changes in the organization that occur dynamically such as varying roles for users, new applications and updates being released, and the like.

  • Patent number: 10739551
Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques to compensate for changes in a depth of field of a camera caused by changes in orientation of the camera (e.g., tilt) and changes in the temperature of the camera. For instance, the described techniques may utilize an actuator, such as a voice-coil motor, of the camera to adjust an image distance of the camera lens to compensate for changes in the depth of field of the camera caused by changes in the orientation of the camera and/or changes in temperature of the camera. One or more models may be generated using calibrated input current values for the voice-coil motor which indicate, for various changes in orientation and temperature of the camera, input current values to cause the voice-coil motor to adjust the image distance of the camera to maintain the desired depth of field.

  • Patent number: 10720573
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a magnetic random access memory array at a density greater than would be possible using photolithography. A template is formed having a pattern that is configured to define a memory array. A block copolymer material is deposited onto the template and annealed to form narrow cylinders of ordered block copolymer material. A metal oxide is then diffused into the cylinders to form narrow metal oxide cylinders. The metal oxide cylinders can then be used as mask structures to pattern a hard mask layer. An ion milling process can then be performed to transfer the image of the patterned hard mask onto an underlying magnetic memory material to form an array having features sizes smaller than what would be possible using photolithography.

  • Patent number: 10721513
Abstract: A promotional message may be provided to a first portion of a group of users. A first watch time may be identified based on an amount of time during a period of time that users of the first portion view the video content items after being provided the promotional message. A second watch time may be identified based on an amount of time during the period of time that users of a second portion of the group view video content items where the promotional message is not provided to the users of the second portion of the group. A difference between the first watch time and the second watch time may be calculated. A determination of whether to provide the promotional message to a subsequent user sharing one or more characteristics with the group of users may be based on the difference between the first watch time and the second watch time may be made.

  • Publication number: 20200207293
Abstract: A vehicle and method for intra-vehicle communication within the vehicle involve a sending controller to transmit a message, and a receiving controller to receive the message. The vehicle includes one or more switches to relay the message from the sending controller to the receiving controller. The sending controller and each of the one or more switches include an egress port for transmission of the message. A processor performs bounded timing analysis to determine a total wait time during transmission of the message from the sending controller to the receiving controller as a sum of each egress port wait time at each egress port encountered by the message. Action is taken to avoid or mitigate the total wait time during transmission exceeding a deadline for the message, and the bounded timing analysis includes performing an iterative process and determining a lower bound (LB), an upper bound (UB), and a median value.

  • Patent number: 10643609
Abstract: A speech-processing system can engage in time synchronization between audio capture devices so that if multiple devices detect and process a same utterance, the system may determine which device is closer to a speaker of the utterance by comparing time stamp data from the multiple devices. The devices may synchronize their individual clocks to some time standard that may be disseminated among the devices and/or to a server. When an utterance is captured, the capturing devices may create a time stamp corresponding to when the respective devices detected the utterance. The time stamps may be linked to the synchronized time standard or may be converted to the time standard by another device. The system may then compare the audio data for incoming utterances, and if the same utterance comes from multiple devices, may use the time stamp data to determine which device first detected the utterance.

  • Publication number: 20200136732
Abstract: Methods and systems for automated testing of extremely-high frequency devices are disclosed. A device under test (DUT) is set in a simultaneous transmit and receive mode. The DUT receives a lower frequency radio frequency (RF) signal from a test unit and up-converts the lower frequency RF signal to a higher frequency RF signal. The DUT transmits the higher frequency RF signal using a first antenna, and receives the higher frequency RF signal using a second antenna. The DUT down-converts the received higher frequency RF signal to a received test RF signal and provides the received test RF signal to the test unit for comparing measurements derived from the received test signal to a design specification for the DUT.

Abstract: A system and method of controlling network traffic for a network in a device that has a plurality of units, including one or more provider and recipient units. The recipient units are configured to send respective subscription requests for data originating from the provider units. A controller is programmed to enter an initial phase when at least one initial condition is met. A repeat phase is entered when a list of currently active subscription is received. In the repeat phase, the controller is configured to monitor the network for a respective timing checking request sent by the provider units. When the controller receives a timing checking request, the controller stores the request in the queue module as respective queue member. The controller is configured to perform a timing analysis test on a selected member of the queue module and control the device based partly on the timing analysis test.
