  • Publication number: 20080058014
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for over the air provisioning of soft cards on devices with wireless communications capabilities are disclosed. According to one method, a soft card provisioning application is instantiated on a device with wireless communications capabilities. A card number for a soft card desired to be provisioned on the device is obtained from a user of the device. The card number is communicated to a provisioning configuration server over an air interface. Card-issuer-specific challenges corresponding to the card number and a provisioning issuer server network address are obtained from the provisioning configuration server. The challenges are presented to the user, and the user's responses to the challenges are received. A connection is made to the provisioning issuer server corresponding to the network address. The challenge responses are communicated to the provisioning issuer server.

  • Patent number: 7233882
Abstract: A method for identifying modes and transitions during plant operation, wherein measured values of process variables are used to evaluate a current state of the process and its sections and subsections. An identified state of the plant is signaled and the plant is monitored for normal execution of any transition, identifying a current task being performed in the process and sending a message to different sections of the plant. Results are displayed on a visual display device and can be sent to other plant computer programs for guidance during the transition. A permanent chronological record of the sequence of events—modes and transitions—of the plant and sections and subsections including the pertinent plant conditions and information is generated for subsequent review and analysis.

  • Patent number: 7212631
Abstract: Techniques for efficient KASUMI ciphering are disclosed. In one aspect, one KASUMI round for generating a fractional portion of the KASUMI cipher is deployed with appropriate feedback such that eight sequential rounds produce the KASUMI output. In another aspect, one third of the FO function is deployed with appropriate feedback such that three successive cycles produce the FO output. In yet another aspect, the FI function is deployed with appropriate feedback such that two subsequent cycles produce the FI output. In yet another aspect, a sub-key generator comprising two shift registers produces sub-keys for each round and sub-stage thereof in an efficient manner. These aspects, collectively, yield the advanced benefits of low area and low cost implementations of KASUMI with a simple user interface. Various other aspects of the invention are also presented.

  • Publication number: 20070064886
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for dynamically controlling a PSTN network element from an IP network element using signaling are disclosed. According to one aspect, a method may include receiving a first SIP message from an IP application server. The first SIP message may identify a call event trigger associated with a subscriber to a circuit switched network. In response to receiving the first SIP message, a first SS7 message identifying the call event trigger and the subscriber may be generated and routed to a circuit switched network node. A second SS7 message may be received that indicates triggering of the call event corresponding to the trigger. A second SIP message indicating the call event may be routed to the IP application server. A third SIP message may be received that specifies a PSTN call control function.

  • Publication number: 20060099701
Abstract: A new gene family involved in cell cycle regulation was discovered. This family has been termed activators of cyclin-dependent kinases (ACDKs). A number of ACDK genes have been cloned and sequenced. Proteins encoded by ACDK genes specifically were shown to interact with CDKs and pRb, and to upregulate the kinase activity of a CDK using pRb as a substrate. Progression of a cell through the cell cycle can be regulated by modulating ACDK expression in the cell.

  • Patent number: 6999909
Abstract: An optimal vibration mount for a disc drive is designed by computing external, ?, and internal, ?, disturbance models for the disc drive and defining an inertia matrix, M, for the disc drive. A state estimator, such as a Kalman filter, is defined based on the inertia matrix and external and internal disturbance models, and a covariance matrix, ?, is derived based on the filter algebraic Riccati equation. The state estimator gain, H, is calculated from ?(I 0)???1, and the optimal mount damping, B. and stiffness, K, parameters are derived from the state estimator gain and inertia matrix, H = ( M - 1 B M - 1 K ) .

  • Patent number: 6925460
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method, system and computer program product for clustering data points and its application to text summarization, customer profiling for web personalization and product cataloging. The method for clustering data points with defined quantified relationships between them comprises the steps of obtaining lead value for each data point either by deriving from said quantified relationships or as given input, ranking each data point in a lead value sequence list in descending order of lead value, assigning the first data point in said lead value sequence list as the leader of the first cluster, and considering each subsequent data point in said lead value sequence list as a leader of a new cluster if its relationship with the leaders of each of the previous clusters is less than a defined threshold value or as a member of one or more clusters where its relationship with the cluster leader is more than or equal to said threshold value.

  • Patent number: 6885975
Abstract: Operators and plant computer programs used to operate a complex process facility are aided in managing the process during transitions by a computer-based apparatus. The apparatus incorporates a knowledge base and methods for identifying modes and transitions during plant operation. At frequent intervals, measured values of the process variables are used to evaluate the current state of the process and its sections and subsections. The identified state of the plant is broadcast to different clients of this application. The apparatus monitors the plant for the normal execution of the transition. It also identifies the current task being performed in the process and sends this message to different sections of the plant. The results are displayed on a visual display device and can also be sent to other plant computer programs for guidance during the transition.
