  • Publication number: 20220353734
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, a multicast message or a broadcast message that uses a radio link control (RLC) format associated with an RLC acknowledged mode (RLC-AM). The UE may decode the multicast message or the broadcast message to identify information associated with an RLC unacknowledged mode (RLC-UM) based at least in part on a capability of the UE. The UE may operate in accordance with the RLC-UM based at least in part on decoding the multicast message or the broadcast message. Numerous other aspects are provided.

  • Publication number: 20220338278
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for truncated identification indicators. A user equipment (UE) may receive control signaling indicating a truncating configuration for an identification indicator. The truncating configuration may indicate a set of bits within an initial identification indicator to remove to generate a truncated identification indicator. The UE may remove the indicated set of bits and transmit the truncated identification indicator to a base station. The base station may receive the truncated identification indicator and reconstruct the initial identification indicator according to the truncating configuration. The base station may reconstruct the initial identification indicator by adding the set of bits (e.g., removed by the UE to generate the truncated identification indicator) to the truncated identification indicator.

  • Patent number: 11477687
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide a base station receiving an indication from a core network to serve multicast/broadcast traffic to one or more UEs. The base station may select a radio bearer mode from a plurality of radio bearer modes for delivery of the multicast/broadcast traffic to at least one UE of the one or more UEs. For example, the base station may select a multicast/broadcast only mode, a mixed multicast/broadcast mode and unicast mode, or a unicast mode for service of the traffic. Dependent on the selected mode and/or quality of service, the base station may select a dedicated radio bearer (DRB) for communication of the traffic in a unicast mode (e.g., to a particular UE) or a multicast radio bearer (MRB) for communication of the traffic in a broadcast/multicast mode.

  • Patent number: 11476982
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that support multiplexing multicast and unicast feedback. A base station may provision different subsets of resources from a set of resources for multicast feedback message transmission based on channel metric(s) of a user equipment (UE). The set of resources may include a plurality of subsets of resources, with each subset of resources being associated with a corresponding channel metric or range of channel metrics associated with each UE receiving the multicast transmission. A UE may determine that a feedback indication is to be provided in response to the multicast transmission, and select a subset of resources from the plurality of subsets of resources based on its own channel metric. The UE may multiplex the multicast feedback, an indication of the selected subset, and unicast feedback in a multiplexed feedback transmission to the base station.

  • Publication number: 20220312377
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described to indicate a transmission scheme configuration for a message and whether the message is a retransmission or new transmission. In a first example, a base station may configure a subset of one or more feedback process identifiers (IDs) for multicast messages. In such cases, if a grant includes a feedback process ID associated with one of the reserved IDs, the message scheduled by the grant may be a retransmission of a multicast message. In a second example, feedback process IDs may be dynamically allocated to multicast or unicast messages via a corresponding grant. A message may be identified as a new transmission or retransmission of a unicast message or multicast message based on a combination of an ID associated with the grant and a new data indicator (NDI) of the grant.

  • Patent number: 11452166
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A communication device, such as a user equipment (UE) may receive, in an active duration of a multicast discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle, downlink control information indicating resources of a downlink data channel for a multicast message for a plurality of UE. The UE may monitor the indicated resources for the multicast message, as well as transmit, based on the monitoring the indicated resources, a feedback message corresponding to the multicast message. The UE may initiate a multicast feedback timer based on the monitoring the indicated resources for the multicast message, the multicast feedback timer indicating a time for monitoring for a retransmission of the multicast message. The multicast feedback timer may be different than a unicast feedback timer associated with unicast messages for the UE. In some examples, the UE may initiate a multicast retransmission timer following the multicast feedback timer.

  • Patent number: 11438115
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described to enable a base station to configure additional reference signals, which may be referred to as configured reference signals, to include in a transmission to a user equipment (UE). The UE may transmit a report to the base station, indicating a UE capability for supporting configured reference signals, and the base station may configure a pattern for the configured reference signals. The base station may transmit an indication of the pattern to the UE, where the indication may include one or more characteristics associated with the configured reference signals. The base station may transmit the configured reference signals to the UE according to the pattern, along with one or more baseline reference signals, within an associated transmission. The UE may use the configured reference signals and the baseline reference signals to receive a transmission from the base station.

  • Patent number: 11432260
Abstract: Techniques and apparatuses described herein provide for an indication that a unified access control (UAC) parameter of a user equipment (UE) has changed. For example, a paging message or direct indication information may be provided to a UE indicating that a UAC parameter has changed. In such a case, the UE may not be expected to periodically check a scheduling information list of a system information block type 1 (SIB1). Thus, battery power of UEs may be conserved and signaling resources that would otherwise be used to periodically check the scheduling information list may be conserved.

  • Patent number: 11409893
Abstract: A security mechanism, e.g., a computing system, security server, can effectively serve as a centralized security mechanism, e.g., a computing system, security server, for an ecosystem that can include diverse clients and servers. The security mechanism can obtain redirected requests for services, authenticate credentials of a client and generate a (client-side) token that can be provided by the client to the server for verification of the identity of the client. The security mechanism can also obtain a token from a server that can be similar to a (client-side) token provided to a client and then generate a (server-side) token that can be provided to a server. The server-side token can include authorization information that allows access to one or more services of one or more other servers.

  • Patent number: 11386044
Abstract: A file server receives a request for data from a user device. The data is represented at the file server by a virtual cluster descriptor. The file server queries an identifier map using an identifier of the virtual cluster descriptor. Responsive to the identifier map indicating that the requested data is stored at a location remote from the file server, the file server accesses a cold tier translation table that stores a mapping between an identifier of each of a plurality of virtual cluster descriptors and a storage location of data associated with the respective virtual cluster descriptor. The cold tier translation table is queried using the identifier of the virtual cluster descriptor to identify a storage location of the requested data, and the data is loaded to the file server from the identified storage location.
