  • Patent number: 11533592
Abstract: In a vehicular communication network, a communication device generates a physical layer (PHY) preamble of a PHY protocol data unit (PPDU) for transmission in the vehicular communication network. The communication device generates a plurality of PHY data segments of the PPDU, and one or more PHY midambles, each PHY midamble to be transmitted between a respective pair of adjacent PHY data segments, and each PHY midamble including one or more training signal fields. Generating the one or more PHY midambles includes, when the PPDU is to be transmitted according to an extended range (ER) mode, generating each training signal field to include i) a first portion based on a very high throughput long training field (VHT-LTF) defined by the IEEE 802.11ac Standard and ii) a second portion based on the VHT-LTF defined by the IEEE 802.11ac Standard; and transmitting, by the communication device, the PPDU in the vehicular communication network.

  • Patent number: 11455628
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for facilitating network transactions based on user authentication. One exemplary method includes, for a network transaction, receiving, at a card device, an authentication command from an issuer of a payment account associated with the card device. A user of the card device is instructed, at an indicator of the card device, to provide a biometric for use in authenticating the user. Biometric data from the user is captured at biometric sensor of the card device, when the user provides the biometric, and the captured biometric data is compared with reference biometric data stored in a memory of the card device. The card device then returns a command reply to the issuer, where the command reply includes an authentication result based on the comparison, thereby permitting the issuer to employ the authentication result of the user in connection with the network transaction.

  • Publication number: 20220207808
Abstract: A computer-implemented image manipulation apparatus and method (200) configured to receiving an input image (202) and a desired style. The method can obtain a representation (204) of the input image selected from a plurality of stored representations of a plurality of images, wherein each said representation comprises data describing a set of image features. The method can modify image features in the obtained representation to correspond to the input image and/or the desired style to produce a modified representation (207), and render a reference image (209) based on the modified representation. A manipulated image is generated by performing a style transfer operation (210) on the input image using the rendered reference image. Embodiments may access a data store to find a group of stored images based on similarity between image content descriptors of groups of stored images and those of an input image to retrieve a stored reference image.

  • Patent number: 11301839
Abstract: A method and system are presented for making a secure payment transaction using a payment card associated with a consumer which has been registered with a digital wallet. A secure server is arranged, in response to a request from a merchant server in relation to the consumer, to extract from the digital wallet payment credentials for the payment card. The secure server uses the payment credentials and the identity of the merchant server to generate a token. The token is provided to the merchant. To effect a payment transaction, the merchant server returns the token to the secure server with details of the desired payment transaction, and the secure server arranges for the payment transaction to occur, and notifies the merchant server. The merchant server does not receive the payment credentials of the payment card during this process, so even if its security is compromised, the payment credentials are not at risk.
