    Abstract: The invention relates to methods for improving a scheduling request transmission between a UE and a base station. The transmission of the scheduling request is postponed, by implementing a threshold that the data in the transmission buffer has to reach, before a transmission of the scheduling request is triggered. In one variant, the data in the transmission buffer needs to reach a specific amount, to trigger a scheduling request. The invention refers to further improvements: the PDDCH monitoring time window is delayed after sending a scheduling request; the dedicated scheduling request resources of the PUCCH are prioritized differently such that low-priority scheduling requests are transmitted less often.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for paging coverage extension UEs in a cell controlled by a radio base station. At least one CE-specific paging possibility is defined for paging CE-UEs. The CE-UEs in the cell regularly monitor the at least one CE-specific paging possibility. When the radio base station determines to page all the user equipments in the cell, it pages the CE user equipments in the cell at the CE-specific paging possibility, using a coverage extension technique. The disclosure also relates to a method for paging a CE-UE, which performs radio measurements by a CE-capable user equipment to determine whether coverage extension is necessary. The radio base station is informed about whether the CE-capable user equipment needs coverage extension and then pages the CE-UEs applying or not applying a CE technique depending on whether coverage extension is necessary.

A plurality of SL grants is acquired. Among the acquired SL grants a number of those SL grants is selected that have most recently been acquired before the start of the subsequent SC period. A plurality of SL processes is associated such that each of the plurality of SL process is associated with a different one of the selected number of SL grants. For each of the plurality of the SL processes, the radio resources are allocated. Each of the plurality of SL transmissions comprises at least one SCI transmission and at least one data transmission over the SL interface.

One apparatus includes a processor and a transceiver that that communicates with a base unit using a first set of beams. The processor detects beam failure for each beam in the first set of beams and initiates both a beam revival procedure and a beam recovery procedure in parallel. The processor terminates the beam recovery procedure in response to successful beam revival and prior to receiving a beam failure recovery response from the base unit. Additionally, the processor re-starts communication with the base unit using the first set of beams in response to successful beam revival.
