  • Publication number: 20140375630
Abstract: The present invention relates to three dimension (3D) scene representations and in particular to a method and a processor for providing improved 3D scene representations. An objective of the embodiments of the present invention is to improve the determination of consistency among a plurality of projections at a virtual view denoted ?F. When determining the consistency, entries of a distance matrix, indicative of distance differences of 3D components between different views for a corresponding segment k when projected to the predefined view (?F) for each segment k, are compared with entries of a threshold matrix. The objective is achieved by assigning each segment k of a 3D component to a cluster based on individual rules for each cluster and one threshold matrix and by determining one threshold matrix for each cluster based on the segments of that cluster.

  • Patent number: 8618869
Abstract: Conventional bias circuits exhibit a number of limitations, including the time required to power-up a bias circuit following a low-power state. Large current surges in the supply network induce ringing, further complicating a power-up process. Example embodiments reduce power-up time and minimize current surges in the supply by selectively charging and discharging capacitance to the circuit during power-up and power-down of the bias circuit.

  • Publication number: 20130250756
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed that assures component circuits transported in aggregated circuits restore correctly after an aggregated circuit fault. The system and method implements component circuit tail segment integrity checks whenever an aggregated circuit is restored in a higher level of a network hierarchy. Switches at both ends of an aggregated circuit perform circuit integrity checks of the tail segments of every component circuit. A failure of the component circuit integrity check on any component circuit causes that component circuit to be released and restored end-to-end.

  • Publication number: 20130027523
Abstract: The embodiments of the present invention relates to a method and a processor for representing a 3D scene. In the method, one 3D component of the 3D scene to be represented, captured at least three different views (v1, v2, v3) is projecting to a predefined view (vF). A value associated with each projected view regarding the 3D component is then determined and consistency among the projected views regarding the 3D component is detected. Moreover, a consistency value regarding the 3D component is determined based on the determined values associated with the respective projected view, and the determined values are replaced by the determined consistency value on at least one of the three projected 3D components.

  • Patent number: 8274883
Abstract: A method and a system for allocating restoration capacity in a network link in a communications network provides that a common pool of communication capacity is provisioned in a network link, such that the common pool of communication capacity includes spare capacity for new service and restoration capacity. A pool of pre-allocated communication capacity for future growth of at least one connection in the network link is also provisioned. The pool of pre-allocated communication capacity for future growth is available for restoration capacity, but not for spare capacity for new service. The communications network can be, for example, a private line (PL) network, a SONET-based network, an Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM)-based network, an Internet Protocol/MultiProtocol Label Switching (IP/MPLS)-based network or a frame relay (FR)-based network.
