  • Publication number: 20180205796
Abstract: Examples may include techniques for a device trigger recall or a device trigger replace procedure as implemented at a machine type communication-interworking function (MTC-IWF) in response to a command received from a service capability server (SCS). Examples may also include the SCS generating a command for a device trigger recall or a device replace to cause the MTC-IWF to implement the device trigger recall or device trigger replace procedure to either recall or replace a trigger message destined for user equipment. • Patent number: 10015622
Abstract: Techniques are described that can be used for efficient mobility management signaling. In some cases, a network can specify an extended timer used for a machine to machine (M2M) type device to communicate with a network. The extended timer can be transmitted in connection with an attachment acceptance message, Location Updating Accept message, Tracking Area Update Accept, or Routing Area Update Accept message. In some cases, a timer can be adjusted using a multiplier in order to increase a period at which communications with the network occur. The network can transmit an indication to change a timer by multiplying the timer with the multiplier.

  • Patent number: 9974004
Abstract: A system and method for authorizing access to a transmission station for a mobile device is disclosed. The mobile device can receive device extended access barring (EAB) configuration information in a broadcast control channel (BCCH) from a transmission station. The mobile device can bar the mobile device configured for EAB and having characteristics identified in the EAB configuration information for barring from accessing the transmission station. Alternatively, a system and method for barring a mobile device from accessing a transmission station is disclosed. The transmission station can receive from the mobile device a radio resource control (RRC) connection establishment request. The transmission station can configure a system information block (SIB) with extended access barring (EAB) configuration information. The transmission station can broadcast the SIB with EAB configuration information to the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 9967727
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for network selection and traffic routing are disclosed herein. User equipment (UE) is configured to store an access network selection and detection function (ANDSF) management object (MO). The ANDSF MO may include network selection rules indicating relative priority based on a specific radio access technology (RAT) types of different access networks. The UE is configured to identify one or more available access networks. The UE is configured to establish a connection with an access network of the one or more available access networks. The UE establishes the connection with an access network having a RAT with a highest relative priority of the one or more available access networks based on the network selection rules.
