Patent number: 9619536Abstract: Approaches for data integration between multiple IT sources using automated data processing based on target metadata are provided. Specifically, an integration component is configured to load a mapped data set into a table with delta processing based on a configuration object containing, e.g., the source data location, target table name, and source to target mapping. The integration component uses the target metadata to validate data, identify changes, generate the necessary database programming language (e.g., structured query language (SQL)), and run the database programming language with data binding to perform the actual data updates. The integration component leverages the data target metadata to automate the processing of source data, thus providing a way to validate the data, and identify delta changes at the field level between the source and target. This significantly reduces the overall development effort, while providing consistency in record handling and error reporting.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2015Date of Patent: April 11, 2017Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Gautam Majumdar, Tarun K. Patent number: 9569604Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide approaches for user access control to a secured application. Specifically, a custom authentication tool is configured to intercept a request from a user for access to a secured application and override one or more default requirements (e.g., application pre-registration, for accessing the application). That is, when credentials of the user are received at the authentication tool, they are verified against data within a user directory to generate a user profile, which is then provided to the secured application to satisfy the requirements for granting access to the user. As such, the secured application's requirements are met, yet users do not have to manually pre-register to obtain access because the registration is performed in the background by the authentication tool.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 2013Date of Patent: February 14, 2017Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Gautam Majumdar, Tarun K. Saha, Michael Q. Wang

Patent number: 9250087Abstract: An approach for identifying a location of a mobile device is provided. In the approach, location information from a mobile device is received, wherein the location information includes a sampling of location coordinates of the mobile device over a period of time. A processor generates a path, using the sampling of location coordinates of the mobile device over the period of time. A processor compares the path to geographic information system (GIS) data associated with the received location information. A processor determines additional location information based on the path and the GIS data.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2014Date of Patent: February 2, 2016Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Gautam Majumdar, Michael Q. Publication number: 20150299954Abstract: A new composition of nanosized bagasse fibers has been made by a method which reduces the sugarcane bagasse fibers to nano-sized particles while retaining the natural components of the bagasse. The resulting bagasse particles were shown to be effective as a nutritional supplement in a mouse model to aid in glucose control and body weight. Using the bagasse nanofibers, the addition of 5 to 10% fiber did not change the color or texture of food products. Moreover, the bagasse powder has a natural color and absorbs color evenly so that it could be used as a natural foundation material for cosmetic products.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 30, 2015Publication date: October 22, 2015Applicant: Board of Supervisors of Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical CollegeInventors: Kun Lian, William T. Publication number: 20150278161Abstract: A method, system, and/or computer program product manages electronic mail (e-mail). An e-mail Graphical User Interface (GUI) depicting photos of e-mail users is generated, such that the photos in the e-mail GUI depict e-mail users, and wherein the e-mail GUI is displayed to a system user. A visual cue is appended to at least one photo in the e-mail GUI, wherein the visual cue describes how many e-mails between a photo-depicted e-mail user and the system are unread.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 27, 2014Publication date: October 1, 2015Applicant: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATIONInventors: MASAYA FUJITA, GAUTAM MAJUMDAR, JAMES MOFFITT, MICHAEL Q. Patent number: 8891514Abstract: A system and method for providing PBX-like functionality at a mobile location includes the capability of maintaining a network session with a mobile number associated with a remote worker. The system utilizes a remote office platform interposed between a data communications network and a conventional PBX switch. A remotely located individual (such as a telecommuter) “logs in” to the remote office platform and, once the individual is authenticated, PBX-like communication with the mobile device is established. If the device is a computer-enabled device and includes a display, the platform can enable a graphical user interface emulating a PBX station set to the device. Alternatively, the remote worker can enter either spoken commands or series of DTMF sequences to utilize the PBX-like features. For these applications, the remote office platform includes a speech recognition module and a translation table for converting a sequence of DTMF tones into a PBX-like call feature (e.g., transfer, hold, mute, etc.).Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2005Date of Patent: November 18, 2014Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property II, L.P.Inventors: Yihsiu Chen, Mark Jeffrey Foladare, Kathleen C. Patent number: 8539030Abstract: A system and method for managing digests comprising electronic messages is presented. A selection criteria that defines message-based content for a digest is defined. Properties and characteristics of the content of the digest are defined. A delivery criteria that specifies periodic sending of the digest is accepted. The digest is constructed as a set of electronic messages. A dynamic stream of the electronic messages is monitored. One or more of the electronic messages is evaluated by filtering the electronic messages against the selection criteria. Only those electronic messages that satisfy the selection criteria are grouped into the digest to which the selection criteria corresponds. The digest is periodically delivered upon satisfaction of the delivery criteria.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 2007Date of Patent: September 17, 2013Assignee: Xerox CorporationInventors: Michelle Q.
