A strip-member blade accessory is mounted to one of the rotor blade surfaces that stretches under normal operating conditions of the wind turbine. The blade accessory has a base portion. An attachment layer connects the base portion to the rotor blade surface and has a lower shear modulus than the base portion to allow for shear slippage between the base portion and the underlying rotor blade surface.

Abstract: A lift system and a method for constructing a wind turbine are disclosed. The lift system includes a rotor blade having exterior surfaces defining a pressure side, a suction side, a leading edge, and a trailing edge extending in a generally span-wise direction between a tip and a root. The lift system further includes a lift device including a sling and a quick release device. The sling is coupled to the rotor blade and includes a first end and a second end spaced apart by an intermediate portion. The second end is releasably joined to the first end by the quick release device. The quick release device is operable to release the second end from the first end to uncouple the sling from the rotor blade.

Abstract: An access control system in an automobile is provided. The access control system includes a grayscale camera, an infrared camera and a processing device. The grayscale camera is configured to capture a grayscale image of the face of a driver. The infrared camera is configured to capture an infrared image of the face of the driver simultaneously with the grayscale camera. The processing device includes a processor and a controller. The processor is configured to receive the grayscale image and the infrared image, convert the grayscale image and the infrared image to a grayscale matrix and an infrared matrix respectively, extract a feature matrix from the grayscale matrix and the infrared matrix, and compute a similarity value by comparing the feature matrix with multiple feature matrices. The controller is configured to receive a result of face recognition and control a startup device and a warning device of the automobile.

Pupil location information indicative of at least a location of a pupil of an eye of the customer is determined based on the visual information. A field of view of the customer is determined based on the visual information. Then a focal point of the customer is determined based on the pupil location information, the field of view, and a predetermined focus condition. An object of interest of the customer is estimated based on the focal point. Information associated with the object is provided to the customer.

Abstract: A sheet-fed image scanning method and a scanning device thereof are provided. Firstly, a contact image sensor (CIS) scanning element is equipped with at least two sheet-feeding rollers respectively and passively connected with a driven roller, so that the to-be-scanned sheet is fed into/out between the sheet-feeding rollers and the driven rollers. Then, the to-be-scanned sheet is scanned by the CIS scanning element when the to-be-scanned sheet is fed in, and the driven roller is elastically ascended or descended according to the thickness of the to-be-scanned sheet. The invention enables non-contact or low-friction contact scanning between the scan glass window of the scanning device and the to-be-scanned sheet to avoid the to-be-scanned sheet being scratched or damaged and assure the constant-distance scanning to obtain high-quality scanned image. The position of the scanning element can be adjusted to the optimum scanning focal distance according to the thickness of the to-be-scanned sheet.

Abstract: A sheet-fed scanning device with cleaning mechanism is provided. The sheet-fed scanning device includes a housing, a scanning module for scanning a fed-in document, and a cleaning curtain whose one end is fixed on the sheet-fed scanning device. The cleaning curtain is disposed in a sheet-fed direction at the front end of the scanning module, and the edge of the other end of the cleaning curtain is elastically in contact with the fed-in document for cleaning a to-be-scanned surface of the fed-in document. The invention is simple in structure and effective in cleaning the fed-in document. The cleaning mechanism does not cost much, but avoids the scanning quality being affected due to the large friction of the cleaning element. The cleaning mechanism ensures long-term cleanness of the to-be-scanned surface of the fed-in document as well as the cleanness of the glass window of the scanning module and the scanning quality.
