Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide a technique for wireless communications by a user equipment (UE). The UE receives signaling configuring multiple candidate target physical cell identifiers (PCIs) of at least one candidate target cell that support physical (PHY) layer or medium access control (MAC) layer mobility signaling. The UE participates in a handover procedure to a target cell associated with a selected one or more of the candidate target PCIs based on the PHY layer or the MAC layer mobility signaling. The UE modifies a configuration for at least one cell group (CG), wherein the one or more of the candidate target PCIs are associated with component carriers (CCs) of the at least one CG.

  • Publication number: 20220006689
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for wireless communication. In one aspect of the disclosure, a user equipment (UE) detects a beam failure of a first beam for a first component carrier (CC) based on a link quality associated with the first beam for the first CC. The first CC and a second CC are within a same group of CCs. The UE initiates one or more beam failure recovery operations associated with any CC within the same group of CCs as the first and second CCs based on a determination of a beam failure of a second beam for the second CC. The determination is based on the detection of the beam failure for the first CC and based on the first CC and the second CC being within the same group of CCs.

  • Publication number: 20210409095
Abstract: Wireless communication systems and methods related radio link failure monitoring and handling in full-duplex communications are provided. A user equipment communicates, with a base station, in a full-duplex mode using a first uplink beam and a first downlink beam. The user equipment detects a beam failure of at least one of the first uplink beam or the first downlink beam. The user equipment determines whether the beam failure is associated with self-interference in the full-duplex mode. The user equipment determines, based at least in part on the determination that the beam failure is associated with the self-interference in the full-duplex mode, to refrain from declaring a radio link failure.

  • Publication number: 20210410221
Abstract: Aspects relate to detecting beam failure. A beam failure in a full-duplex communication scenario may be detected based on a reference signal measurement. For example, a user equipment (UE) may measure a downlink reference signal transmitted by a base station and/or an uplink reference signal transmitted by the UE and derive a quality parameter based on one or both of these measurements. If the quality parameter indicates a beam failure, the UE may generate an indication that one or more of the beams monitored by the UE have failed.

  • Publication number: 20210409097
Abstract: Aspects relate to reporting beam failure. Upon detecting a beam failure, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a beam failure recovery request to a base station. If the uplink is working, the UE may transmit the beam failure recovery request via uplink signaling (e.g., via a physical uplink control channel or a physical uplink shared channel). If the uplink is not working or if the beam failure is due to downlink quality degradation, the UE may transmit the beam failure recovery request via a random access channel (RACH) message.
