Abstract: Disclosed is a thermoelectric material according to various SSnSe-based formulas, and the systems and methods of manufacturing the thermoelectric, high performance material by hot pressing materials according to various formulas in order to obtain a figure of merit (ZT) suitable for thermoelectric applications at high (above 600K) temperatures. A disclosed method comprises hot-pressing a powder that comprises Sn and Se in a predetermined direction to form a pressed component, wherein the pressed component comprises a ZT value of at least 0.8 above about 750 K.

Abstract: Microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) devices are described that include a proof mass movably connected to a substrate by accordion springs disposed on opposite sides of the proof mass, with a coupler coupling two of the accordion springs together. The coupler is a bar in some implementations, and may be rigid. The coupler therefore restricts the motion of the accordion springs relative to each other. In this manner, the motion of the proof mass may be restricted to preferred types and frequencies.

Abstract: A thermoelectric composition comprising tin (Sn), tellurium (Te) and at least one dopant that comprises a peak dimensionless figure of merit (ZT) of 1.1 and a Seebeck coefficient of at least 50 ?V/K and a method of manufacturing the thermoelectric composition. A plurality of components are disposed in a ball-milling vessel, wherein the plurality of components comprise tin (Sn), tellurium (Te), and at least one dopant such as indium (In). The components are subsequently mechanically and thermally processed, for example, by hot-pressing. In response to the mechanical-thermally processing, a thermoelectric composition is formed, wherein the thermoelectric composition comprises a dimensionless figure of merit (ZT) of the thermoelectric composition is at least 0.8, and wherein a Seebeck coefficient of the thermoelectric composition is at least 50 ?V/K at any temperature.

Abstract: New radio download numerology allocation information may be obtained through master information block data, system information block data, radio resource control signals, or signals or a physical downlink numerology indication channel, and used along with a reference signal detected in a search space to obtain resource element positions in an antenna port reference signal in a resource block that belongs to a particular band slice according to a reference signal allocation scheme for a band slice numerology. A physical download control may then be decoded based upon one or more resource elements of the reference signal, allowing the connection of, e.g., an enhanced mobile broadband, massive machine type communication, or ultra-reliable/low-latency application to a communications network thereby. Alternatively, multiple physical downlink control channels may be blindly demodulated at each of a number calculated reference signal locations, and one channel selected based on passing a cyclic redundancy check.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for distinguishing humans from computers and for controlling access to network services. One intended application of the method is a CAPTCHA technique, deployed using a shared Trusted Computing technology over a trusted network of a user terminal, a network server, and a Trusted Party, any of which may be at a Decision Point. The method distinguishes a human user making a legitimate request for network access from a programmed computer making undesired requests, by detecting unusually high network access request frequencies made by an identifiable user and/or a trusted module from the user terminal. The CAPTCHA function is further used to improve the method for controlling access to network services. The information transmitted between the members of the trusted network may be encrypted.
